In all fairness,  we had good defenses McNabb's best years.   But they were never great in the NFC title game,  except for one year,  that was 2004.   Every other year they ranged from average to poor in the title losses.

I will conceded they were also good in the Super Bowl loss, great for one half but somewhat iffy in the second half. But  that game was on McNabb for the most part,  not entirely but if there was one season ender I'd blame on him it would probably be that one even though even in that game he sure as hell had his moments,  the three TD passes were lovely but the turnovers were killer.   Especially the one to Bruschi.   I've said many times that one bad pass probably defined McNabb's career and possibly the whole Andy Reid era.   He doesn't throw the Bruschi pick,  the Eagles win that game,  McNabb would probably be headed for the hall of fame and the Eagles have a Super Bowl title.

Its sad one pass can define your career,  but true.

He had another chance in 2008,  but I don't care what anyone says the defense blew that one.

Nope.

70 more TDs 12000 more yards, actually got drafted.. its pretty clear to everyone except maybe you. lol

And the most important. 40 more games. You can't compare when there are uneven amounts of games played.

A Super Bowl win would have got McNabb in the hall of fame.

Say what you want about Garcia, but that run he had in 06 won the Philly fans over.  Fans put his shirt put on the Rocky statue, he was a warrior and I will certainly never forget that season.  McNabb was the reason Garcia got released in the offseason. He simply didn't want to have to look over his shoulder the next year knowing the
first bad game he had that the fans would be calling for Garcia.  He won the fans over in 2-3
months while McNabb couldn't do it throughout
his whole career in Philly.

Weird thats already 6 years ago..time flies.

Garcia was only jealous because he could never be the QB McNabb was!  McNabb's level of play stood miles above what Jeff Garcia could only dream of!

this. it's funny how easy it is for all the blame of the championship short comings to get thrown on mcnabb's shoulders yet looking at the current status of our team and the direction we've gone in since mcnabb i think its pretty obvious how important he was to all of those runs.

Garcia never got to play with the defenses McNabb did early in his career, even the Eagles defense for the one year he was in philadelphia was one of the worst defenses of the Reid era.

Yea McNabb had the better career, but Reid has always made Qb's look better than they are, and Reid and Garcia ran a pretty effective offense.

I think what Garcia was trying to get at with his comments was that Donovan had all of the talent in the world and if he would have put in the effort that Garcia has, Donovan could have gone down as one of the all time greats in the league. That Garcia wishes he had the talent that McNabb had and only imagines what he could have done with it.

LOL @ MORONS who think Garcia was a good QB.  The guy had one of the weakest arms of any QB to EVER play in the NFL.  If he could throw a ball 40 yards the Eagles wouldn't have lost to the Saints in the playoffs the year that Westbrook CARRIED the Eagles to the playoffs.

Stop being bitter Jeff or people will start analyzing your career and I am sure there are plenty of shortcomings that you won't want people to hear about-mainly your pathetic arm strength.

It's funny to me how Donovan doesn't need to respond to any of this garbage.  He has his wins, stats and accomplishments-those are facts.  Haters are just going to try to bring up opinions to bring him down but guess what?  Teflon Don don't give a crap about what Jeff Garcia has to say.  Just compare their careers and we can all LOL at Jeff Garcia.

First off  the Saints rushing for 208 yards had way more to do with the playoff loss then anything Garcia did.  He had zero turnovers, took only 1 sack, moved the offense up and down the field, led an offense that scored 24 points, and didn't choke on his final drive. Overall a solid game.

Westbrook had the best season of his career( most carries, most rushing yards, most catches, most receiving yards) in 2007(year after Garcia). The 2007 defense was ranked 9th in points allowed and 10th in yards..up from 15 and 15 in 2006.  Why did the eagles start 5-8 and miss the playoffs with Wesbrook still carrying the team and a better defense?

This.  Jeff is just mad because he was a journeyman QB.
