The host on 97.5 (ESPN) around 10 pm tonight mentioned Lurie said something yesterday that it is not  guaranteed that Andy will be gone (or something to that effect). Anyone know what he actually said?

Lurie's profits will decrease exponentially if Reid is here next season. Mark my words, not one sell out unless we miraculously turn it around (which we won't)

Profits aren't just from the sales of tickets. If fannies aren't in the seats nobody is paying for parking, nobody is buying merchandice, food, and alcohol. People not showing up is not good for business.

Good points. Just saw an article in yesterday's NY Post. Jets fans are running in droves from their home games. Only the most expensive seats aren't being heavily discounted. All other seats are selling for a fraction of their face value. In many cases they're just being given away.

lurie said he and andy is working on a new 5 or 6 year deal thats gonna make andy the highest paid coach in leagues history

he wants to get it done asap so that andy doesnt have to go into next year as a lame duck

he said he sure that with the o-line coming back healthy next year things will be better and andy will finally be able to pass the ball downfield and wont have to run the ball as much as hes had to do it this year which has really held back this team

with that said i agree its time for jeff to step up and take care of andy after all hes done for the city and the fans

Hey, if you got any season tickets you want to part with I'd be happy to take them from you. Actually there's a pretty long waiting list for season tickets, so I'm sure Lurie will be fine there.

lurie wants reid here for life why change if you are going to make money not matter what? Jeff doesn't care and he will put andy in charge because its easy and they are smarter than the fan base or so they think. He has us by our tails and chances are the fans will continue to show up and follow like sheep. Sad but true.

The last time I went to the Linc maybe a year ago it was around $20 to park, $7 for a beer (x4), and $4 for a plain hot dog. I think I bought a program for like $10.  So I spent $62 to watch them lose to the 49'ers, in addition to the price of the ticket. My friend had tickets to the Dallas game this year, but after it all started going downhill I politely declined. Oh yeah, it would have cost us $120+ round trip in gas to drive up to Philly.

However, I had no problem paying nearly $200 for a single ticket to the NFC Wild Card vs the Giants in 2006, in addition to whatever else I ended up buying while we were there....

When Jeff originally made his "8-8 would not be good enough" remarks, he went on to qualify that there would be room in any decision about AR's future with the team for other considerations.

Is this sarcasm or did you really hear that Lurie said something like this?

And if he were to come back (doubt very much), as soon as the team started winning the fans would be right there.

But as usual MOST fans and ALL of the media couldn't comprehend that most basic important part.
Now granted, I assume he will be gone and I do believe it's time for a change.

Eagles games will always have plenty of fans show up no matter what.  If the team starts losing they might leave early but it's still an NFL game with tailgating, enjoying the stadium experience, etc.

A team should desire to win and please its fans, and not expect fans to pay money for garbage and half arsed play and ridiculous decision making.  It's natural for people to be excited by winning and good play, and bored and frustrated with bad play.  If your favorite restaurant or TV show or any other product started sucking you'd stop spending your money and not be excited about it until they won you back.   That's natural.

Look at Star Wars:  rabid, passionate fan base.  Really frustrated with some decisions in the prequels.  Disney bought them and promised a new trilogy with Lucas not directing and a quality writer for the script, plus bringing back Luke, Han and Leia.  Now the fan base is excited again at the prospect.

You put a quality product out there, people will enjoy it. Look how people turned on Metallica after the St. Anger album.  Great band, great legacy but sucky end to their career.

Eagles fans are loyal but we want to play the game the right way.  We'll take a loss or even a losing season.  But losing the way Reid has been is too much.  It is fixable and obvious but he doesn't change.

Andy is gone people.   Lurie is not going to come right out and say he's fired before the season is over with five games left.
