If Nick Foles can light it up this Sunday he's our starter for sure next year. If he looks lost and scared, then he'll be a backup for sure. This is his chance to lock down the starting QB job. I can expect a loss, I just don't expect it to be his fault for it. He's playing with the backups, which he should be used to playing with. Our backups aren't as good as the Dallas' starters, but we should see Foles do things more in rhythm. If he's truely a starter in this league, he's going to prove it on Sunday. If he chokes away his opportunity, well... Bring on the next guy.

YES! This is the biggest game in Foles' impressive three game career, thanks for pointing that out

Anyway, I don't think Foles will be able to lock in a starting job for next year unless he plays lights out the rest of the season. Improvement is what's to look for in a guy who is starting just his third game. If he does light it up, that will be very promising, but it doesn't guarantee he'll be the starter. For more on this, check out Matt Flynn and the Seattle Seahawks.

yay another Napoleon Dynamite thread....

What makes you think he's going to show anything to make us think he's going to be our starter next year.  He's a project and will take a long time to develop.  Something he can do in practice...

Go get Alex Smith!!!

You're an IDIOT. The Eagles OL is makeshift and INADEQUATE. Anything that happens Sunday nite is in no way, shape or form Foles fault. He's just trying to make the best of a really BAD situation. Write it down.

dude has the rest of the season as long as he doesn't get hurt, I honestly don't see the urgency here as the season is a wash and the Eagle's have nothing to lose keeping him as the starter....

i agree  but i think your going waaay too far with the nothing that happens is his fault. come on he has to have some type of accountability. it would be nice if he stopped throwing the ball across his body that makes him look real bad you would think he would atleast know he cant do that. and i would like him to show some signs that hes catching up to the speed of the game instead of all his throws being late and last but not least stop throwing into triple coverage

How about no. Plenty of rookie QBs are playing with crap O-Lines. Foles should be able to make do.

Afaik (as far as I know) meh is not an abbreviation.  It's a general saying when something is underwhelming.

So if Foles has plenty of time in the pocket and overthrows an open receiver for an interception it's not his fault??

Some posts just has you  doing this :nonono: in total bafflement.

No coaching staff is going to write a player off after just three games . And certainly not  at the QB position, Or when the team is decimated with injuries to their entire O line. And minus  their two top  players of Jackson and McCoy.

By the same token he doesn't owe Vick anything either.  So just because Vick is a veteran ,that isn't any greater a guarnatee that he will be retained either. His body of work over the course of his 10 yr career certainly isn't anything special. That would give the new regime any sense of certainty, about his abilities  or of his being anymore successful than he has been.

Foles at least has youth on his side. With the right coaching staff could turn out to be better than expected. I'm sure any coach worth their salt will take into consideration the minimal experience he has had at this level, before writing him off. Unlike the biased fans .

He definetly has a chance to take the job.  It's all on him now.  It's a shame that he has to do it with a F'ed up O-line though.  I just hope he makes it thru the game especially if argbtti (Andy Reid goes back to throwing-itis).

I expect Foles to play against Dallas the way Aikman did in his first outing against the Eagles. It was a 27-0 clobbering on Thanksgiving 1989.

I think they called that game the Bounty Bowl

Aikman was sacked 11 times in that game.I think we can hold them to 10 or less.
