He apparently shot her 9 times.  That is excessive and heinous.  This guy was a thug.

So shooting her once then would have been okay?

The Chiefs organization had been aware of the relationship problems the couple was having and had provided counseling:

Also:

"Investigators believe Belcher killed himself because he was distraught over shooting Perkins, Sharp said.

He cared about her," Sharp said. "I don't think he could live with himself."

(as the timing and sequence of events suggested)

I know nothing about him other than the news of the last few days, having shot her 9 times doesn't make him a "thug" though. The 9 shots tells me that it was most likely a "heat of the moment, extreme anger" killing. The kind of thing that happens in a moment of blind rage.

Of course that doesn't at all justify it, but that's the kind of thing that could overcome many people and doesn't mean he was a "thug". A thug wouldn't have seemingly had such regret that he'd then kill himself too. A thug simply wouldn't care enough.

it's not his fault. He didnt know that running full speed into people head first, on nearly a daily basis, for years in hopes of making millions of dollars would be bad for his body. Also, the gun. Its the gun's fault for being itself.

Clearly it was the guns fault not the killers.  Lib logic

Same is said about religion being the cause of war.

You can't argue guns aren't one of the easiest ways to kill some one though.
