"They" of course being the smug, self-righteous, judgmental, "culture warrior" types who insisted on persecuting innocent Ohio State and Penn State players for things they had nothing whatsoever to do with.

Now a team that went .500 within the Big Ten will be playing in the Granddaddy Of Them All.

In a bygone era, H.L. Mencken referred to such types as the "booboisie."

I guess things haven't changed much in 90 years.

The funniest part about the "don't punish innocent players crowd" is that not once have I seen a credible punishment that will deter future rules violations. It's always "fine the university a ton of $$," where now you're punishing the entire athletic department and student body for the faults of the football team.

Innocent Ohio State players? Wow, that's hilarious.

Penn State - yep. They are innocent players.

Unfortunately the penalty given out wasn't near harsh enough and was targeted at the wrong people, the players. I would have just absolutely housed the school financially and every penny the football program PROFITED would have been donated. No loss of scholarships, TV time, bowls - nothing.

Ohio State though? That's a laugh.

coming from a guy who's EMB name is a school that represents the Catholic church which has violated more boys in a year than Sandusky did his whole life.

The problem there is that in so many schools the football program subsidizes other sports. No profit for football takes away resources for volleyball, soccer, wrestling, track, etc. If you keep those at the same funding level, then the money comes out of the general fund and there's less for all students or higher tuition/fees.

Let's not forget Title IX which is a huge reason the football programs can get away with all the garbage they do.  Hide behind Title IX and the other sports.

Although I don't entirely agree with your premise, the fact that the player (i.e. Terrelle Pryor) and especially the coach (i.e. Pete Carroll) move on without any of the sanctions impacting them is ludicrous. From the coaching perspective the risk/reward/reprimand don't add up.

Yet to be determined. Addazio wasn't all he was cracked up to be. I am just glad he is gone. good recruiter, poor coach.

I am pulling for them to throw a lot of money, motorcyles and co-eds at Bobby Petrino. There are a lot of nice roads in and around philly for him to cruise with his sloots.

Petrino?

You would be lucky to get a division 2 coordinator to take that job.

i think that is pretty cool for badger fans... any preference on who you want at the helm in the future? Personally, I have been pulling for Chryst just because my pitt friends would be pissed and looking for yet another coach.

Barry just came out and said we won't pursue Chryst because he asked personal friends at Pitt to get him the job and it'd be dishonorable to steal him back one year later.

That being said I wish we could get Chryst back

Stop crying "The Ohio State" fan . The NCAA is just handing out long over due punishment
for all the bull that has gone on there.
Read Maurice Clarett article on how he made more money at "THE OHIO STATE" then in
the Pros. 3 cars also. Sounds like one of your last great players.
