Was the #7 ranked DE coming out of Highschool, was the starter at DE at Stanford for a year before getting hurt and Jim Harbaugh switched him to OT.
Was projected to be a first round pick, but ended up getting hurt again.
Basically, high risk, high reward.

Sounds like no risk, high reward...
If he's got first round talent, this is a great move. Almost no risk, and starter upside.
