He can't be any worse than the tubs of goo playing that position for the bird since Runyan retired. (I don't count Herremans, moving him to tackle was pure desperation)

This has the scent of Roseman all over it. Get used to these moves.

Do we have any active  O-lineman that could make the Patriots practice squad?

6-6 300lbs.

Was the #7 ranked DE coming out of Highschool, was the starter at DE at Stanford for a year before getting hurt and Jim Harbaugh switched him to OT.

Was projected to be a first round pick, but ended up getting hurt again.

Basically, high risk, high reward.

50K to sign him, 27.5K per game for the five games left, his signing is no risk.

I don't know about that, he is a lineman, you never know what lineup the Eagles will have out there

Sounds like no risk, high reward...

If he's got first round talent, this is a great move.  Almost no risk, and starter upside.

To everyone saying anything remotely close to "he could be good maybe", there is a reason he went undrafted and bounced between 4 teams in 2 years.

That reason is injury.

I don't know if this guy can play but lets be honest if he has any pulse at all he's an upgrade on King Dunlap.

Nate Menkin was getting lonely on the list of players added mid season that never dressed.

Don't be surprised if he moves up the depth chart before the end of the season and pushes for playing time.  He was pushing for a spot on the Pat's active roster this season and was one of their top PS players.  He's a good player that caught some bad breaks but has an opportunity to make some noise now.  Smart player and hard worker.  Eagles O Line needs help any way you look at it, I like the move.

To be honest I think the eagles OL is set for he rest of the season. Dunlap looks like the weak link and the others aren't great but they are that they are now which is below average but not terrible anymore. That's as good as it gets in '12 without peters, Kelce and Todd

Our biggest needs are a Huge DT to pair with Cox, DB help and a big WR to go along with a RT.
Would also like a strong side LB so we can move Ken to weak side where he belongs.

But look for a DT in the 1st 2 rounds, possibly with acquired picks.

Sounds like open audition time. But the Patriots have done pretty well with linemen over the years. Worth kicking the tires at this point in the season.
