He might be awesome for a team in another division - but in a division that already has Tom Coughlin and Mike Shanahan, the Eagles need to think big.

As if the big names guarantee success. Get off it.

McCoy's a young assistant in the league and has been for a long time now. He seems like the type of coach the Eagles would go after. He did get Jake Delhomme to play well in Carolina. Working with Peyton Manning can only help him as a coach.

I don't love this. He was a coach for the Panthers for years, and slowly moved up the ranks with a generally pathetic franchise. Denver hasn't exactly been lighting it up on offense the last few years, and even the great offensive performances this season rest solely on the shoulders of Peyton Manning. This guy has a lot more to prove before someone hands him the keys to the kingdom.

He's one of my top choices. Look at what he's done in Denver and Carolina.

He actually won a playoff game with Tebow at QB and this year rejuevented Manning's career. Kyle Orton and Jake Delhomme had career years under him too.

I would not be disappointed at all if they hired him.

He also worked with Mike Trgovac in Carolina so there's a good chance he brings him in as DC.

meh. delhome was never great, he worked with kyle orton was never great, peyton manning is peyton manning, and with tebow that offense didnt do much except rely on the defense to keep it close and then tebow only plays good late in the 4th.

nah im good.

That sounds like a fair evaluation..... .
Most EMB posters have 2% of the information it takes to evaluate players, coaches, and executives, with 99% of that 2 % being information they heard from another EMB poster.  So in actuality, the value if that 2% is equal to about .01%  true quality.

Ultimately it's a wait and see approach.  None of us have any control over it.  Lurie will hopefully do the best thing.

Delhomme was never great but while under McCoy (2003-2008) he had some productive years and almost won a Super Bowl. Orton and Tebow stink but under McCoy they were productive players. Orton almost had 4000 yards in 2009 and 2010. My point is he gets the most out of his players. Here are Delhomme and Orton stats.

I like how he can change everything. He went from Tebow to Peyton and went to playoffs both years. Wouldn't be opposed to him as OC

Orton sucks so 8-8 was pretty good for him.

My fear with him is that he is a hot commodity right now because of Peyton Manning.    I see some posts that point out that players like Delhomme, Orton and Tebow put up some better numbers under him, but I'm just not sold that he can come in as a head coach in the NFC East.    We need someone who is going to build a dominating defense to deal with RGIII for the next decade.

RG3 will be injury prone. Guarantee he misses games next season due to injury. He's still having problems with his knee and it's his first year.

Peyton manning can make me look good as a offensive coordinator lol. But someone who can make Kyle Orton look average, hes not bad. But if we get a offensive minded coach it should be Kelly imo.

He is my top choice as of now, but haven't seen any reports of us having any interest in him. I would like a defensive minded coach also but don't see many great ones out there.

This is purely speculative but here is goes. All we have been hearing is Chip Kelly is the number one choice but when has the eagles organization ever made their intentions clear? Whenever they make a move its always out of the blue. I see the Chip talk as a smoke screen. Lurie stated he is looking for a HC who comes from the offensive side of the ball ( Mccoy) Someone who can be here for 10+ years ( Mccoy is 40 years old) Someone who isnt selling a scheme and can adjust ( you can argue Chip offense is fad and Mccoy has worked with Tebow, Manning and Kyle Orton) And to add to the conspiracy theory Bob Lamonte is the agent for Reid, Roseman AND Mccoy...

I would be happy to see Mccoy here so maybe I am wishing this to happen

Add the Eagles to teams Broncos coordinator Mike McCoy will meet with this weekend. Heavy interest in him. AZ and CHI also to speak to him

This is a topic on the broncos forums on McCoy leaving. From the looks of it, they all seem to hate him and are hoping to kick him out of town. I honestly don't know if I can follow a guy who is already hated by his fanbase. It'd be like Marty coming in to be our HC.

I think you are putting too much stock in clueless fans on a message board. There's a reason why about a half dozen teams already are visiting him for an interview. He's a hot commodity because he's a quality young coach.

But the fact that the Broncos offense looks a lot better this year has more to do with Peyton Manning than anything Mike McCoy could've done.

Can't really disagree with that. I like the fact that he got the most out of guys like Delhomme, Orton, and even Tebow though. He knows how to get the most out of his players it seems.

That's what you want from any coach. Hopefully he's one of those guys that just gets an opportunity and uses it to prove what he can do and possibly prove people wrong.
