Arlington, TX -- There is nothing good that comes from a 38-33 loss to the hated Cowboys, but then again maybe there is. At least, that's the way it went down Sunday night in Texas ...

Best thing for the future... a few young guys gaining experience and the final results helping to get better draft position.

Well, it is foolish to fire Reid now. But he must leave, both for his own good and that of the franchise. I do not "feel bad" for him. He brought in a person of questionable character (Vick - and I wrote it at the moment of his arrival) and the franchise has gradually declined since. The Eagles main problem reflects that of their coach - lack of focus and discipline. Penalties, big play give-ups, poor tackling. Worse: No heart. All these reflect Reid himself. He should have taken the money and retired for a few years three years ago when his personal problems began. You can't keep these off the field as we learned sadly this weekend. Take care of your own house first. FOOTBALL WISE: The Eagles historically are a defensive-minded franchise. Reid is an offensive (well, the 80s SF West Coast offense) minded coach. They need a disciplinarian in the mold of Bill O'Brien at Penn State (no, he's not available now) and a return to their defensive roots. No Jon Gruden, please. Go to the college ranks and seek an inspirational leader. It's neo-D Vermeil time again and it will take three years. Oh, Foles showed some grit tonight, but he is still an NFL backup. Sorry, Nick.

Eagles rookies acquitted themselves very well. MM's offense stinks, still the kids played for themselves and their own future. Gallant effort from the crew of the ship whilst Capt Andy ran it aground.

A lot of talent for a new coaching staff

DDD... the last 5 years were a waste of time. No shot at a title ... fools gold wth the wins in this pathetic NFC east from 2008-10. The present can start with a new philosophy ...."time is not ours yet. New Years eve time will be ours... the day after regular season is over.

>>pp101: Foles and Brown are handicapped by MM. Where the F was the I formation and Stanley Havili. Eagles have the personnel. MM is a dope. 160 rushing yards behind a makeshift OL and running out of a shotgun is incredible.

Defense was outfoxed by a very good QB. Dez Bryant is a beast. Austin, Bryant and Romo are good players. Eagles back 4 are pretty soft.

The 4 rookies and maybe Thorton are the only ones I'm interested in right now on Defense. 3 years in future the 2 safeties will be out of the nfl ( just like Reno Mahe, Pinkston & Fred ex... only Andy Reid would keep those guys for so long) Cole will be play one season for another team then wont get a job... the rest who cares.

Wood... we could have the Pats offense and still be an 8-8 team

DDD: Trent Cole is Juqua Parker. No longer a premier DE. I liked the 5 DL wrinkle. Never have liked the smaller, speed DL trend. DL was getting after Romo to start. Game was a battle and rookies didn't give up.

See why I wanted to start the season with Nick Foles. Kid has poise and plays pretty well.

DDD: I was already screaming at MM. First series should have been I formation with Brown and Havili pounding it.

Foles showed some resolve and grew his confidence tonight.

D was pathetic but i thought graham was getting pressure on romo. Maybe not a lot of sacks, but a lot of pressure. Kendricks was ok. Not good but ok.

DDD>Brown played elite except for the costly turnover

Foles is gonna be amazing when we get a new coach/our starting line back. Whoever said foles sucks, sucks, lol. He played really good. Throwing accuracy and decision making was good. I'm not saying hes perfect but hes definitly way better than vick
