While I'm all for getting rid of all four starters. Its unrealistic/ unlilely to think we will have four new starters in the defensive backfield next season...
So...who stays? Do we draft a safety with our first pick being as high as we will be? Seriously doubt it.... So then were already hoping that maybe in the 2nd rnd we grab a starter.....
Im saying nmandi and Nate will maike it and hope we grab another starting safety and cb either draft or free agency.

Good question the secondary needs a complete overhaul. I don't want to see any part of DRC or Coleman next year. Allen I can take or leave but I think he has the potential to bounce back.

NA squared stays. Im nit trying to restructure him either.  If we cut him then we are down even worse. Hes a good team guy and at least tries hard... DRC walks.  Coleman is only playing because jarrett flamed...

The secondary issues are not all personnel though...

Wipe it clean and start over with whatever the new DC wants. You can make an argument for keeping Namdi but he's getting older and it's not like suffering through the growing pains of a young, cheaper CB will be any different than what we've had to put up with this year. Save the money. He'll be washed up by the time the new guys hit their prime.

Safety class this year has some good deep players who i think we can get later on..(ie kenny Vaccaro, bacari rambo, etc..) last draft there were a few players i really wanted us to go after.. and one was Janoris Jenkins... its too bad he wasnt a possibility cause we could sure use a player like that...

Allen is the worst, poor angle, never shows up in time to help break up pass, no hard hitting, only covers the field that's empty of opposing players.

Did you watch last nights game? Tackling wasn't the only problem he had.

Being an OSU fan I really wanted Coleman to work out.  Unfortunately that is not the case.  He needs to go.  I'd like to see Rodgers-Cromartie hang around and get some good coaching.  The guy has skills, he just needs to be polished.  I don't think I'd mind if Asomugha is gone after this year which brings us to Nate Allen.  The guy is not performing to the level we had expected from a 2nd round pick.  He's not horrible though.  If we can find someone to replace him he'd be a great backup, but he seems to just be average as a starter.  I'm sure he'd be much better with someone competent playing next to him, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Whole secondary blows.
Nnamdi gets burned every play, unless the play is run to DRC's side, then DRC gets burned instead, and Coleman is just a goon.

I wouldn't at all be upset if the CB's came back.  Again, I think the right coach could do wonders for them.  Nnamdi to me should be kept definately.

Allen and Coleman MUST be replaced.  I'll be beyond upset if those 2 are our safeties next year.

Its time to draft a TOP safety.

You want to trade up for Brandon Graham and Jerome McDougle???

Could have had Berry or Thomas.

FINALLY time to grab the best Safety in the draft. Maybe even the top 2.

Allen makes Sean Considine look like an All Pro.

It's funny, in training camp DRC looks unstoppable and is jamming the hell out of receivers and playing well.  But that's 1 on 1s, in the games when he has to tackle he shies away and the system also hurts him by playing zone instead of man.

I think Allen & Asomugha stay ... DRC thinks he is an elite corner & will want a big contract, he will test free agency.  Let him ... I wouldn't pay him top money.  We draft a safety or acguire a FA for Coleman's position.

It's obvious this secondary is confused on how to play their pass coverages.  I don't think it's always been their fault - they're not morons.  I think better defensive coaching would make a huge difference.

Nnamdi should be cut - below average cb as an Eagle, huge salary, too old - cutting him will save Eagles big bucks that they can better use on somebody else.
DRC - His great speed and good ball skills are a great tease.  He's a terrible tackler, avoids contact, and quits on plays.  I wouldn't mind losing/trading him.
Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman - Keep them until we have a couple guys at both of their positions (4 guys total) who can play better.  Nate will benefit greatly from better coaching.

First draft pick should be BPA.  Preference to CB, S, LB, OL.

Cutting Nnamdi results in $4 million in dead money ... I think they will try to restructure him.  Improved safety play would make him look a lot better.

They all can go! Seriously. Nnamdi has to restructure. I don't want DRC anymore. He showed me he's got no heart. That singular play proves it. Coleman only on ST's but above C. Anderson. Allen... I guess, I really don't want him either. He's serviceable.

Restructure Nnamdi, keep Allen, cut Coleman and let DRC walk. Allen is kept as a backup, not to start because he sucks as well. Draft a guy and find a FA. See if Marsh or Boykin has what it takes to play on the outside

I have always loved Cromarties skill set dating back to his draft I talked him up majorly to my friends.  Was so floored when he ran such an awesome 40..great skill set..unfortunetely skill sets dont always translate to the football field.  Hes not putting it all together..time to cut him loose.  Id keep Nnamdi on a restructured contract..back when Nnamdi was a FA I wanted Joseph so badly.  Just felt he could have grown with the team and been great all at the same time.  Shame we missed the boat there.

Keep Nnamdi and you almost have to give Allen a final shot just because it would be hard to overturn it all in one off season.  Coleman and DRC have GOT to get OUT though.

People keep killing DRC and Nnamdi for coverage, but they are continuously asked to play soft zone coverage which neither is great at, and they never, eeeevvvvveeeeeerr have safety help over the top, so when the WR gets a tightly contested catch over them, it's off to the races.

Our CD's are better than average if used properly with proper personnel.

Nnamdi and Allen are here.

Coleman remains here... as a special teamer and backup only.

DRC gets a lowball offer and if he won't take it, he can walk.

Nnamdi stays if he restructures.  I dont think both safeties will be gone my guess is it will be Coleman that is out of a job.

So Nnamdi and Allen stay
Coleman and DRC go bye bye.

As much as it pains me and maybe the rest of you guys I'd like to see Nnamdi, DRC, and Allen back as a FS with Matt Elam as SS. Listening to Dominique sound so despondent after the game made me realize that the backfield's finally coming down to earth (or hell). Elam is prob the closest thing to Dawkins as I've seen in a while, and I can only pray that he doesn't turn out to be JJ part II.

To those that are suggesting keeping Allen: What exactly do you see in his play? He is the single worst safety I have ever seen. At least Coleman trolls his opponents after the play.

i agree. while i strongly think coleman is the 2nd worst safety in all of football...allen is absolutely the worst. We were told he's not a big hitter but he's great in coverage...really? he doesn't hit and doesn't cover well. We need safety's that hit. All this coverage safety "soft and a little too slow to play cb" types need to go. I personally don't see how jarrett could be any worst than these two. It may have been our own teamate but he's the only guy who has attempted to lay the wood from that position all season !
