If we beat the Giants and knock them out of the playoffs, (As long as the Redskins get in and not Dallas)
that will give me some satisfaction to end this dismal season.

i agree. the sole goal should be, for them, to have fun on the field and not get hurt, and for us, to try and impeach as many playoff accesses as we can. that is no small feat, as patpikunas just underlined !!

All I'm asking is for Foles to win the next four games. Why is that unfair for Eagles fan to ask? We had defensive problems before Foles played and we had injured starting offensive lineman before Foles played. So why should we suffer the next four games by not pressuring him to lead us to victory? Nick Foles is the permanent starter this season and next season so what's wrong with asking him to win the last games. Fans say that he's smarter, younger and has a better arm, plus he's taller than Cam Newton so when are we going to see some wins?
Mike Vick is fired because of his awful 3-5 record. So if our franchise, soon to be elite quarterback Nick Foles goes 0-8, we should cut him slack because of injuries and bad defense? So what if we have injuries next year, what if there's no improvement with our defense, what if keeps fumbling and throwing interceptions do we just ignore it. We wanted to go to Super Bowl with Vick and we fired him because he failed so next season we just go through the motions because Nick Foles is smart, tall, and nice throwing kid? WOW.
We got rid of terrible Vick (3-5) after 8 games. If Foles goes 0-8 after 8 games why are we excited again?
If you saw the Redskins game, RG3 don't have offensive weapons we have and their defense is not the greatest. I don't think fans and the media will cut RG3 slack if had started 0-8 this season. So that Rookie excuse is getting old. Nick Foles is the LEADER now, lead us to victory. It's about winning not about pleasing people who despise Vick. Cool we got rid of terrible Vick so lets get a quarterback to replace him to lead us to the Playoffs like Andrew Luck. Pre Season plus Eight regular season games is enough games to ask for some wins.

>>DDD: Am interested in seeing more play from Vinny Curry and Philllip Hunt. Can these guys be legit NFL players...I want to see them stand up & individually succeed against teams aiming at play-offs. Same for Cedric Thornton. Hurries, disruptions, batted balls, sacks.
Nick Foles. Was ready to have him start the season instead of Michael Vick. Lets not get hurt behind some idiotic empty backfield sets while smurfs can't get open in another futile MM designed deep play. Instead, lets see more timing plays with Cooper, Avant & Maclin. Lets see adjustments at LOS.
Need to see more of Stanley Havili, Chris Polk and Dion Lewis. Some I formation. Some short yardage. Some power football and playaction. Wouldn't mind seeing a 2 and 3 TE set.
Speaking of the 3 TE set, Demetress Bell is a very raw athlete in a high pressure situation. His agent got him a great contract with Howie Roseman. Bell's athletic skills may never emerge like his pop's ( Karl Malone). This kid has been on a roller coaster. His performance in Buffalo or before never justified the compensation provided by the Eagles. Perhaps his "pedigree" and his occasional great play convinced Howie that he was worth the dough. I'd play him as TE #3 for some Chris Polk carries.
Andy Reid. Time for Big Red to pull the plug on his own NFL coaching career. He better have told Jeff Lurie that 2012 is his last coaching season for a while. Maybe he already has. AR deserves some down time and with a self determined retirement he removes the needs for Jeff Lurie to "pull the plug".

>>Argh: Great Post. Nothing wrong with wanting Ws whatsoever. Regardless of any late season success, I am ready for a new coaching regime in 2012. Wayyyy too much drama from AR in past several seasons. MM needs to hit the road.
Michael Vick. If I were Mr. Vick's agent, I'd be taking every precaution to determine if my client ( & meal ticket) is suffering with a post concussion syndrome. Football is a violent sport, and Vick played the game with fearless abandon. At some point, the game and his individual style of play put his health at risk. I have to wonder if that line has already been crossed--and we are watching a man play with an actual medical impairment.
