The idea being, if some other franchise gets a hold of Andy Reid as taskmaster, leader of men and football genius, the Eagles will be all but doomed for years.
And to that I say, please, please, I hope on hope that another franchise, even in the NFC East hires Reid to run their organization or coach their team.
How's that for being careful?

Nobody is perfect, and Reid has brought us a chance to win in the past.. My gut feeling is he needs role reduced to head Coach with some say on personnel, but not all!!!!
We need a strong defensive coordinator!

to be quite honest - i hope andy takes a job in san deigo and runs that team into the ground. then FINALLY this head coach and football "genius" will be exposed for the fraud that he really is and is fired within three seasons.

* Right. Careful what I wish for? Or what? I'll have a season where I go 3-13? I'm already having that.

With some of the recent poor decisions Andy has made (Castillo to DC, signing Vick long-term, hiring a DL coach to install the wide 9 before hiring a DC, etc.) Andy already has become a thorn in our side. But really, no need to be disrespectful toward the man. It is just time to move on.

1) He fires MM and gets a young inventive offensive coordinator and hands off the playbook to him.
2) If Rex Ryan gets fired and they hire him as the defensive coordinator.
That is the only scenario I would even consider keeping him around for a lame duck season and that is still a maybe. Other then that unlikely scenario it is time to move on. There is no need to be fearful where he goes, especially since he is not going to be anywhere near the NFC East anyway.

If Reid had 14 seasons without a Super Bowl in Dallas they'd be all over him. But since the national media views Philly as an ugly stepchild that should be grateful for its division wins and NFCCG appearances Reid looks like a god to them.
The talking heads are idiots. If they actually have a real opinion most times they are afraid to share it. I ignore them.

Couldnt have said it better myself. Basically they are making their decision based on the cover of the book rather than looking into things.

The vocal majority of Eagles fans make themselves easy to pick on. If you can't see that then you're not paying attention.

Agreed, Andy has given us a great ride here, however, he has become stale. I for one appreciate the ride he has given us and wish him the best. Personally, I hope he takes time off to take care of his personal business and enoy his friends and family. In my opinion he needs a break and time to enjoy his life.

Last 4 years identical to ray Rhodes.
It can’t really get any worse than the last two seasons. Last season was awful then they fools’ golded the last 4 games.

You're right, 0-16 would totally be the end of the world compared to 3-13. And if you think Reid leaving is going to trigger the Eagles leaving Philly, you're on crack.

I love what Andy did for this team, but ideas get stale and you have to adapt. The only thing Reid has done to adapt is throw money at free agents that don't pan out instead of home-growing solid rosters.
I don't want Reid to leave the Eagles, but I don't want him as the head coach. Someone else with fresh ideas and a real winning hunger needs to take the reigns, re-tool this team, and lead it to glory.

Hiring Washburn was a mistake but not at all because it was before hiring the DC - as it turns out - Washburn was the bad apple on defense - he should have been fired earlier in the year instead of Castillo. I will agree that it was a mistake to hire Juan Castillo from OLine direct to DC - his inexperience coaching that side of the ball was evident late in games. With that said - he was doing a very good job - the only unit performing reasonably well this season was HIS defense despite their own offense and special teams. The Vick contract was the right move since it was perfectly structured so that they could back out of it after this season without a significant cap hit.
