I can't blame him. Every year they get hyped up, the media love for ND is disgusting. Most years their schedule makes them look better than they really are. Oh, and they're too afraid to join a conference. This is the first year they have a legit team, and even then they are going to get crushed by Bama. They would've been far better off hoping Oregon/K-State had gone unbeaten.

Yeah they are. Sure, their stupid TV deal, because everyone tunes in wants to see them lose. they'd get completely exposed in a conference. Even the ACC/B1G.

This. Also the ACC is garbage, the Big Ten is way overrated, the Big 12 is just as bad maybe a little better than the BIG 10, and Notre Dame beat the best team in PAC-12. The only conference that actually has dominate teams is the SEC. There is no team in the ACC, BIG 10, BIG 12, PAC 12, or BIG East that Notre Dame should be afraid to play

Well, I guess we'll get to see because the football program will join the ACC between 2016-2020. That has been in the works forever now.
Notre Dame would get exposed in a conference? Interesting way of looking at it. Notre Dame - the only team in the entire country to have never played an Division I-AA, DII or DIII opponent - would be afraid to join a conference.
Notre Dame, who went out of their way to schedule Oklahoma, Texas, Miami, Florida State (who wouldn't play them) on top of Michigan, Michigan State and USC every year is afraid to compete?
You have a lot of good points there.
Those pesky facts for you Notre Dame haters continue to get in the way. Just face facts that Notre Dame has one of the largest three fan bases in the country along with Texas and Ohio State and stop crying.
Notre Dame will more than likely lose to Alabama, you can sit there and spank it in your mother's basemen because that makes your entire year and then come on here and create 1,000 new threads about it.
The mods won't care, they only warn/maintain/moderate Penn State threads. (Well, all but one)

I have plenty of legitimate reasons to not like ND. Just because you do, doesn't mean I do.
1. EVERY year I have to hear about how they're going to run the table, do this and that, how they're going to be great. And more often than not, if they have so much as gotten into a BCS bowl game, they've gotten thumped. It gets annoying hearing about how an average at best team most years is supposedly going to do this. You enjoy hearing it I'm sure, I would if it was my team (And before you try claiming I won't name my team, my team is PSU. Sandusky, Paterno, lololol go ahead and get your jokes in). But they're not.
2. Most years they've been "good", their schedule has been pretty average, and they get exposed as I said in the BCS bowl game. This year, they've run a tough schedule and came through unscathed; more than anyone other than OSU was able to do. Impressive this year. I had gone through and was looking up the schedules, but to be honest, too much work to do for a reply on a forum.
3. I don't like how they're independent, but they get special treatment. "In this BCS spot, we get either the SEC champ, or the spot reserved for ND". If ND is going to get that treatment, then I say every independent gets treated that way. Unfortunately money talks way too much.
4. They are put on TV every week, no matter how good or bad they are. Especially when they're bad, I do not want to see 3-5 ND against 2-6 Navy. Or when they're playing some other creampuff. You, sure. Me? Not a chance.
Why are you acting like you play all those schools you listed every single year? You and I both know that's false. And also, I wouldn't really brag about MSU; they've been good for roughly 3-4 years since 2000. Most years they've mediocre. D'antonio has done a fine job up there, but we'll see what he does next year if this year was a fluke or not. Miami hasn't been the same since, was it 2002 when OSU beat them? Decent here and there, but never a real threat in a typically weak ACC. USC, had how long of a win streak on you? 5-6 vs Michigan since 2002. Not entirely sure of how good Michigan was each year, and don't really feel like looking it up. I'm assuming Texas and OU (besides OU this year) are more for the future. We'll see how Texas improves; can't fault ND for scheduling them and them turning out to suck, however. Not sure when ND has played or scheduled Miami, either for that matter. But I don't think it was 10 years ago?
ND has struggled against some middling B1G teams, I see no reason to think that they'd compete in the B1G. Now, this year is an exemption; B1G is down, and ND is good. But when I see a lot of struggles against Purdue and MSU. I think that, judging by 2000-2011, it's fair to say that most years OSU would beat them. PSU post 2005 went 1-1 against them, and I didn't think either PSU team was very good. But I think post 2005, it'd be like Michigan and you'd be about even against PSU. If you really want to include 2000-2004, PSU would probably get beaten except for maybe 03. Wisconsin, Iowa would also give them trouble every year. I feel like I'm missing one other school.
As I said, that might change from this year into the future, but I've never seen anything from ND that would convince me that they'd be good in a conference, and I always thought the most logical as the B1G. This year moving forward? Maybe. Kelly has done a great job there so far. We'll see if he keeps it up however. Unfortunately, for me, I think he will.
Uh, no kidding ND has a large fanbase? I think anyone would agree to that let alone cry over it. Don't really feel like making a thread about when they lose to Bama, either.

Forgot to put it in there, and yes their schedule was decent this year. Wins over Stanford (I still say Taylor was in..twice), and OU being most impressive. Michigan is a good squad. USC is tricky..very talented, but I think lack of depth kills them from the sanctions.

Let it go man. That priest that raped you when you were a kid has very little to do with Notre Dame. Take your ND bashing effort and put it towards some self help already.
