Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will interview for Temple football's vacant head coaching position on Monday, according to a report from OwlScoop.com, Temple's Yahoo! Rivals site.

Temple has interviewed multiple candidates over the last week following Steve Addazio's departure for Boston College. Addazio coached Temple for two seasons, taking over after Al Golden left the program for Miami. Temple is now in the process of searching for its third coach in the last four years.

Per the report, Mark D'Onofrio, Golden's defensive coordindator at Miami who served in the same capacity while on Golden's Temple staff, is also scheduled to interview.

A university official declined comment to Comcast SportsNet late Sunday night.

Bowles, who played his college football at Temple, has not coached at the college level since 1999, when he was the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Grambling State.

The Eagles hired Bowles last January as the team's defensive backs coach. He was promoted to the role of defensive coordinator after Juan Castillo was fired on Oct. 16. Bowles conducted his first media conference as the team's defensive coordinator wearing a Temple sweatshirt.

I like Bowles, I think he'll do a fine job in a better situation than the one he was put in here. Rats fleeing ship though, with Mudd retiring again and Bowles possibly going to the college level

Rates fleeing ship? They are all going to be out of a job when Reid gets fired anyway. What do you want them to do, sit around and wait to be kicked to the curb?

I don't think you're terribly familiar with the phrase "rats fleeing ship"

not at all. I will do a quick google search on the phrase and rethink my post
