Even at the time we all collectively said who and we got exactly that. It took them 10 games to replace him and this line did not nearly look this good for injured Michael Vick. Watch any other Nfl game and you do not see the line break down nearly as fast as ours did.

I like Foles but I think he is a great backup. I don't feel as though Vick was given too great of a shot especially with how bad the defense is.

Danny Watkins was the biggest bust that the eagles have had in a very long time

Vick is finished.

Foles is still a developmental prospect.

Watkins is one of about 9 players that must be replaced soon with significant upgrades.

Howie should only do player contracts....forever.

Reid and the rest of his staff have to go...their time's up.

Lurie's 1st and only job from now till the off-season is identify the best GM in the business (yes it can be a younger guy ready to step up).....then HIRE HIM to run football operations.

After that, head coach, coaching staff, FA, trades and the draft......the rebuilding begins in earnest.

I think you need to give him a chance to play for a more traditional line coach.  I'm willing to see how he can start next year vs complaining about him after a game he didn't even play in.

Man I wish we would of traded that pick to the Rams for their 2012 1st round pick. That would of netted us RG3.

Agreed.  Let the accountant do his accounting, and have him stay in the front office where he belongs.  Bring in a football guy to run the football part of the team.  Then bring in some real coaches who realize they arent smarter than everyone else in the world.  And for gods sake, bring in someone who knows that running your stud back more than 10 times a game is a good idea.

No to RG3.  He may look good now, but wait a few years until he is beaten down like Vick.  He will lose a step and wont look nearly so good.

Im tired of mobile QBs.  Give me a guy who can read a defense and see where the blitz is coming from, and tell you which way the safety is going, and that team can win some games.  RG3 is a gimmick.  After some games in film, he will be figured out.  Just like Cam Newton and Mike Vick.

wow, still pining over vick?  for real?  The guy has been lost for 2 years.  The line was fine last year, and vick stunk.  get past it.  Vick is done.  He had 6 games in 2010, and thats it.  Foles has played much better than vick this year and last.  Give the kid a shot, he's proving he has a better arm, he's smarter, can read defenses better.  He's earned the rest of this season and next as well as far as I am concerned.  And Vick can back up in buffalo for all I care.  He shot his load in 2010.

So Foles plays great behind a worse line than vick had early in the season but he is a back up at best after 4 games yet vick didn't get a fair shot ? All of that can be linked to the drafting of watkins? While watkins may have been a bad pick it certainly has nothing to do with the overall problems with vick or the struggles of the team. The jarrett and watkins picks certainly didn't go as planned but its just the nature of the beast. The reality is draft picks in the first round have a 50 percent bust rate and each round the percentages go up.

I think Vick was playing behind a high school offensive line. But that's how things go in the NFL some times. That doesn't take away from what Nick did yesterday.

And I thought he could be a capable back up before the game yesterday. After seeing him throw for almost 400 yards, with exceptional poise and most importantly to me WIN, he is a starter in my mind.

Just need some new faces on the oline to protect him and some decent play callers.

Reid wasn't the only one who thought he was a plug-n-play Guard. A lot of the pundits thought so as well.

I'll never call someone a bust until year three unless their name is Ricky Sapp and it'll be interesting to see how he does with a more traditional scheme, but so far he's not really lived up to what most would call a first round expectation.

Watkins was a bad pick. He needs to be replaced. That being said, look at all of the players drafted between Watkins and Jarrett who can't play. Almost every one.

I want them to try Watkins at tackle before they get rid of him. Maybe he's just not a guard. It wasn't his position to begin with, and there's no way he can be worse than King "Can't get my hands on you" Dunlap.

Reynolds, Kelly and Dunlap were awful yesterday. Watkins may be better with a new OL coach.

I hated the pick then and still do. I am hoping he turns it around in a new system but I wont get my hopes up. I remember I wanted either Muhammad Wilkerson or Jimmy Smith. They should have gone with big Mo. He is pretty studly with the Jets.

You're blaming the defense for Vick not being given a fair chance? Hahahaha. Good luck winning the Ravens, Browns or Giants game without them standing on their heads. Can't forget Vick's 13 point stinker against a historically bad defense in the Saints.

Watkins will be a bust if he fails when a new line coach comes in and can not get him to live
up to a 1st round pick.

It could be worse, like the Lions drafting 3 WR's very high , none are in the NFL IIRC (Maybe Williams), or the Browns, think Couch, Green, Brown, Winslow, Edwards. Maybe we draft a QB this draft, think Russell, Akili Smith, Carr, Harrington, Leinart. Maybe we go LB, Aaron Curry ring a bell?, how about Venon Gholston or Gaines Adams, hell Aaron maybin too.

I remember my first thread on TATE....

It was linebacker thread #3572 in the summer of last year before we picked up Demeco and drafted Kendricks. Idk why, but I thought my thread was original and groundbreaking. It didn't end well for me.

I'm cutting Vick some slack for that Saints game.

I was appalled at how horrible the line was that game. They crumbled immediately almost every play. Not much you can do there.
