Good timing ... he's going to need a job in about a month.

I'm hoping he takes it sooner if he's a serious candidate.

Looks like temple has resigned itself to being a loser school again.  Clock is ticking until they get kicked out of the big east again

I know you guys think he sucks...but after watching how the defense played a lot tougher with less miss tackles, more focused and no blown coverages, I think maybe Washburn really was a problem for this defense. If the d improves over the next few games I'd give him another look in the ofseason. The pass defense against Tampa in the first half was tremendous.

Surprised that what's happened since he took over the Eagles D hasn't completely damaged his stock.

I said it before that I kinda felt bad for Bowles because he took over a no win situation. He really couldn't implement his scheme because he was handcuffed by the Wide 9 and by the fact that he couldn't really make wholesale changes. But at the same time he had to know he was being looked at as an in season replacement since Castillo was gonna be on the hot seat almost from the start.

I think Washburn really held the defense back with his scheme. That ultimately held the Eagles up because no defensive coordinator candidate wanted to use the Wide 9.

Sounds like he is serious about it, plus that is where he played. Did Temple have to get authorization from Reid in order to interview Bowles? If so this may be a case of Reid nodding to Bowles that he will not be DC next year, hence the "rebuild".

I hope he gets it. He has a lot of school spirit for Temple and he was handed a secondary of guys who are incredibly soft. Yes he didn't get them to play well but I'm not sure anyone can. Having a guy take over as DC midseason with a qutting team doesn't help either.

Freeman is having a pretty good year, add in their WR's Jackson and Williams + Clark and we did a good job of containing them

He was missing, but from what I saw at least 3 passes to Underwood were a result of him running the wrong route. Also over the last 4 games he's been torching teams. Still had a low completion percentage but it's almost entirely due to how many deep shots he takes to Williams and Jackson. He takes a lot because teams were stacking to stop hamster.

I don't know how much excitement it'd bring to Temple football but I could see why they'd be interested in him.

I haven't written him off as a horrible DC just yet. This team makes everyone in the organization look bad.

I feel like there was just so much dysfunction on the team this season and maybe even last season that its very hard to gauge anyone as bad with exception of Marty Mornhinweg. Still, this season was like a disease and you'd like to see the disease purged from your system and a fresh start.

Bowles won't be Temple's next Head Coach. The best he can hope for is Rhule hiring him as his defensive coordinator.

I would love to keep him as the DBs coach. People forget that our secondary was playing really well the first 5 or so games, before Juan was fired.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. People also forget that the Wide 9 handcuffed this defense in so many ways.
