Pretty much that Tagliabue gave up the fight regarding suspensions against the players. The NFL still thinks they're right no matter what and have enough evidence to continue pursuing fines anyway.

Roger Goodell flat out sucks at being commissioner. End of story.

*As of now, Sean Payton and Gregg Williams are still suspended and the Saints don't get draft picks back.

Do some of you people read? Tagliabue agrees with Goodell that the players are guilty...he just also thinks that the evidence has too many fingerprints from the coaching staff and organization.

Four players were unjustifiably suspended and fined. All fines and suspensions have been vacated. Justice has been served. Get it?

Yeah, seriously. lol. Just because Tagliabue is saying that justice isn't served, doesn't mean that it's not. This whole thing isn't over yet because there are lawsuits at hand but there was some justice that was served. That is undeniable.

Sure, a simpleton like yourself a couple of others in here can rejoice in victory while spewing all the tired cliches you want. Others will look deeper into the situation and have questions to ask about what happened. But right ahead, celebrate.

Sure fella, I'll celebrate with all the simpletons while you and all the really smart folks go on and look deeper and continue investigating the case. Good luck with all of your unanswered questions sir.

I think we need to look at the context surrounding the events.
  • Goodell was operating in the shadow of lawsuits from former players who had suffered some major long term mental and physical damage.

  • Goodell had issued a very clear warning to teams regarding rumors of a bounty system.

  • The Saints blew off the warning, and continued their bounty system
Given this, I totally understood why Goodell nuked the Saints.   This situation is all the more ironic given that Goodell is trying to clean up the mess he inherited from Tagliabue and Rozell..

I can understand going easy on the players, but the organization needs to pay a price for allowing and promoting the bounty system.

Having the suspensions removed makes his ideals a whole lot messier though.

They're all guilty and have exhibited criminal behavior the entire time.  Now they're in the stage where they start pointing the finger at each other.  Put them ALL in jail.

I can read and I can read between the lines too.  That is what you call a SPIN.  League gave up because they gonna lose and they were WRONG you're a tool if you believe anything else.
