Baldy asked him if foles could be a super bowl QB, he said foles is a long strider and needs a shorter delivery then Warner agrees on foles, starts comparing him to flacco. Saying he is good at throwing down the field and the mid range passing game is where they struggle, and im thinking, wait.. hold up... has kurt even been watching? Nick has had trouble going deep, and his mid range game has been great. Even at arizona foles the spread and was doing alot of short and mid range stuff and then going deep to criner every now and again. But foles has had a good completion percentage all thru college runing that system. So warner basiclly got this whole thing backwards to me.

what do you think dave?

You're right. These analysts are wacko's. His midrange game has been exceptional and his deep throws - which I think have been impacted by pass rush in many cases - have been pretty bad.

I agree.  Some of his deep throws he hasnt been able to step into.  That one to Cooper in the last game comes to mind.  Also that havent asked him to throw alot of deep throws.  This last game was the most so far.  He reminds me of Flacco a whole lot.

I put little stock in anything the talking heads put out there.  How many times did we hear how good Hoying, Kolb and many other were going to be?  Fail...

I think Nick needs work on his throws down the field and he knows it. He just doesn't get it out there accurately, but I think he's going to work hard and develop that part of his game. He's playing with a tough group here. The Eagles had no tight end for much of Thursday night, the run game was unproductive and the red zone play calling was off and ineffective. Early in the game I was like, "OK, I like what Nick is doing here." Then it unraveled in the last quarter and a half and I'm left with questions. That's the way it goes with a young QB. Ups and downs and hopefully more ups than downs.

I think Foles can develop the touch he needs to be effective on deep throws.  In weeks past he seems to have been overthrowing his guys on a lot of his deep attempts, so he adjusted this week.  Unfortunately he adjusted a little too much and left the throw to Maclin ridiculously short.  Still, he's big enough and has a strong enough arm to make those throws.  He just has to work on his touch and get more acclimated to the speed of the game.

it's a process....he is still a developmental prospect and will be through all of next season...after that we'll have a clearer if not a complete picture.

This kid is playing behind a decimated line (even though it is getting better).  He is doing it with backup players at all skill positions other than Maclin.  This kid has been solid.  The unravelling that happened the other night had to do with a LOT more players than him.  I loved listening to John Lynch compare him to Brett Favre during the Tampa game.  Yes, this is when we were down folks.  The kid is built like Big Ben...if he is drawing those comparisons this early - I think we have something special.  NO DOUBT!!!

He will learn - look how slow the game seems to him already.  Rookies don't always think of every posibility, every play.  The kid has impressed.
