And the blocked punt was not April's fault, well maybe sorta. A LB that was supposed to be in for blocking was too busy celebrating on the sidelines (just another example of poor coaching and player discipline). This forced Harbor to run out and be out of position so McNutt was left to block the outside guy.

Bobby April is the worst coach in the NFL.

And I find it very difficult to blame a coach for a returner muffing a punt. I suspect that April covered "Don't drop the ball" pretty early on.
That said, he has to go. The breakdowns in coverage, allowing big returns, indecipherable blocking schemes, all show that he just got lucky in Buffalo where he made his reputation.
And as for the blocked punt, I have this to say:
6-3, 216 MARVIN McNUTT on the OUTSIDE EDGE trying to block 265 pound rushers? REALLY?

But for special teams to work you really need to have players that want to play special teams. The Eagles do not have that in any capacity. We have drafted a bunch of college captains who did not play the position then, and don't want to play it now.
letting Bobby April go right now wont fix this problem. But I do agree that the entire coaching staff needs to be removed in about two weeks.

I thought that was a great play. I think the problem is some of you fans are just too damn conservative to try different things. If it works it's pure genius. If not, well at least you gave it a shot. I will never be upset with the Eagles for trying new things. I'd even take 0-16 if I knew everyone was playing their hearts and soul out and leaving it all on the field. It's just been the lack of commitment from the players as well as a lot of bad coaching decisions that has me frustrated with this team.

I have a very open mind about really opening up the playbook and giving players different looks. however, take this into consideration: Take the last 50 trick/gadget plays that this ST/offense has run. How many would you say worked? 2 or 3? Obviously I don't know the numbers, but when you watch an Eagles game and they try something cute or gimmicky, they fail.
Open up the playbook, and be aggressive, yes, but don't put solid players outside their natural molds simply because you think you can outsmart the other coaches. Put 11 men on the field at their best position in the best scheme determined for your personnel and you beat the other team. Period.
If the Eagles went on the field and lost every game while giving it everything they've got I'd be ok with that too, but every time I see the coaching staff get overzealous with trickeration it makes me want to puke.

Many positions need to be upgraded including the 2nd and 3rd string on Special teams.

As if anyone's opinion on this board, or anywhere really, would affect the strategy of a gimmick play. Giving yourself a little too much credit as a fan, man. We just watch.

while you are correct, we are just fans. We just watch the games. But if you freak out about watching your team trying to be creative, I tend to think you're like that in your own life.

Yeah McBriar had poor awareness there, but how do you excuse McNutt for getting shoved 10 yards backward right into him like a rag doll?

Put pretty much anyone there besides a QB, WR, or CB
