Colt seemed to play well for the most part. I think he can be productive as long as he can get up close and personal with the line of scrimmage as a run stopper, or someone blowing up screen passes and the like. That being said, he's still a liability in coverage (barring that amazing over the top help play last night in the endzone) mainly.

he was much better than colman but i would still like to see them take a safety in the draft. anderson did a good job i thought for filling in.

He had another solid game. Certainly outplayed Nate Allen, no surprise. Nothing spectacular, though.

Made one nice coverage play, Cincy had no deep balls.

I'm more comfortable with him as a starting safety than either Allen or Coleman.

Colt was somewhere between servicable and good last night, depending on your point of view.  He's not the most talented guy but he's smart and his high effort is obvious.  He's always either making the tackle or close to it, so he seems to have a nose for the ball.  Having said that, you'd hope guys like that would create turnovers, which I don't believe he's done.  He's definitely not what we want for a starting S but he's a quality backup.

And no denying he's a beast on special teams, unfortunately the only one on the whole friggin team.

if the Eagles spent their entire draft on Safeties, Linebackers, and Offensive Linemen I think I would be quite content.

Maybe that's why. Nothing open downfield.

When it comes to playing safety, let's just say he's a good solid special teamer.

COLT IS WAY BETTER and definitely (faster). tackle's harder,, THAN NATE ALLEN AND COLEMAN.  He shows up to help the corners on longer routes. Colt is like Tim Hauck.  Look he'll make some mistakes but the other 2 guys haven' gotten it done in 3 years. Colt played 2 games.
He showed up on the long one to Green and actually jumped up and knocked the ball out.
The other 2 guys go up with the receiver and the receiver catches the ball.  Kind of like Nambi who can't jump and play the ball.
Next year Colt, DRC and draft a hardhitting safety or the ND linebacker.  Curtis Marsh is better than Allen, Coleman and Nambi.

Pretty much echoing what everyone else said.  Coleman, despite the objections of a small subset of relentless homers, is a terrible safety.  Colt played better and while I don't expect him to be a long-term solution, he was an upgrade and has been named the starter in front of Coleman for the time being.

I can't believe some people on these boards were defending Coleman's play this year and last by saying he's about average and few teams have good safeties...how blind can people be?

Obviously he did a nice job. Better then Coleman and I certainly would content with him as the #3 safety. But they still have to get another starter to go with Allen.
And I originally thought Coleman could be serviceable as the #3 or #4 guy. I don't even think he could be the #4 guy now.
