Quote

– On whether Colt Anderson has earned a starting spot for the remainder of the year:
“I think you could say that. Now, listen, I haven’t sat down and talked with Todd [Bowles] about that but I would tell you that he’s played good football. Good enough to be considered at keeping him in that position.”

Colt has really played well attacking the football.... one of the announcers on the NFL Network during the game compared Colt to Dawk and his aggressive play at the safety position.

He meant in the very little playing time he has had. Coleman had similar comparisons when he first started. And make no mistake, this is easily his worst season.

Colt is a special teamer, a good one, but a special teamer. Coleman should be given an opportunity to play in the new defense before losing his job. Of course he's a special teamer too.

There both great special teamers, I dont mind at all CANderson starting. He plays the run well. Constantly around the ball. Havent seen him in coverage a whole lot yet, but it wouldnt take much to beat Burnt Colemans coverage skills this season

Coleman's proven under 3 defensive coordinators that he's just not that good. How much more time does he need? He's prone to being beaten on double moves, he bites on play action, and he just doesn't have what it takes to be anything more than a special teamer if that.

Coleman should be demoted to midget football, he's that bad.  He's also an embarrassment, the way he conducts himself.

If I never see him on the field again I'd celebrate.

I thought Colt did pretty well in coverage from what I saw of the game last night. I had to turn it off after that 16 yard TD run by Dalton. I just had a bad feeling it wasn't going to end well after that.
There's always next week. If not at least the off season should be interesting

A special teamer replaced by a special teamer. The injured starter special teamer should be given an opportunity to play in the new D before losing his job to the other special teamer.

Want to see laron Landry come in as a stopgap until we can hit safety in the draft. This isn't the year to do it.  Remember how everybody said his Achilles was done?  13 games played...

And that's why the crapola announcers on the NFL network have brains the size of ant brains. Compare Colt to Brian? That's like people in WU trying to compare Paul McCartney to Kurt Cobain.
Andy Reid must have naked pictures of Lurie and all the national NFL announcers, because all they do is line up to fluff him or tongue his enormous butt.
We, the Eagles fans, know - FATSO MUST GO!!!

If Coleman doesn't play anymore, who is gonna slow down gameplay and force substitutions by throwing the opponents shoe off the field?

Coleman stinks, but naming Anderson the starter is like identifying him as "the tallest midget."  Neither of them are NFL starters.

This is a sad and tragic assessment of Kurt Coleman's abilities to play football
I dont rate colt anderson as a starter, he's a ST gun who can do a job when called apon in a season game, and he will always earn a roster spot whilst he does those things, but he has no place in the NFL as a starter, and the fact he is, speaks volumes about Colemans abilities.

Anderson gets to be a starter ... for 2 whole weeks.  ^_^

Seriously, hope we add another 2 to the position this offseason (one via FA, one via the draft) and hopefully one of them emerges as a legit starter, pushing both Coleman and Anderson to the bench as depth and STs only.

Yes.  Gotta love Anderson on ST and in run support, but it's hard be effective in pass coverage., although maybe we'll find out how poor he is in pass coverage over the next couple weeks to know whether he should be considered anything other than a ST ace.

I am really pulling for Colt.  Q made the same move a few years ago when we were searching for an answer next to Dawk.

Maybe the new DC will help Nate become a decent player.

Colt played pretty well.. if he keeps it up, why wouldn't he earn a spot?playing well is playing well. Just because you are white and are a pro bowl special teamer, doesn't mean you can't "be a starter" in the NFL, whatever that means. He's starting now. Thats a starter, no?

Colt played good football on Thurs. You want guys on the field that are laying good football. The eagles really haven't been playing much good football this year..

Talent level at safety, league wide, isn't especially high right now and that has been his supporters greatest defense for his poor play.

He's played slightly better than I expected from him when he was drafted, but I was doubtful that he could even make a roster.  Sadly though, I still think he's better than Allen.
