What Really Matters in Football

You know what you don't see? Desean Jackson type quitters. Does anyone doubt that he would have walked to the lockerroom when the score got around 31-3.
Then, after the Patriots come back to tie the game it takes two plays for the score to become 38-31. Tremendous poise by the 49ers.
Both teams are showing such tremendous heart. It's not about running in shorts. It's not about bench presses and vertical jumps. It's great coaches leading poised, intelligent men who love to play football.
I'm officially done putting much stock at all in combine numbers. I hope the next coach feels the same.

If we had a team with 30 guys with DUI's , 20 guys who beat their wives, and 3 dog killers AND we won super bowls I COULD CARE LESS about the individuals on the team and their problems
Desean Jackson isn't the problem on this team

I do agree with the good coach leading men who have heart. Some teams have it, others don't. We have been without heart or "soft" for quite some time.
I just said today - its been so long since the Eagles have had a big, big game like this. I miss those days - I've forgotten what its like to watch a huge game. The last time I was amped over a huge game may have been 3-4 seasons ago. Before you know it, the rebuild will have been done and big games will be on the horizon - wishful thinking.

Andy Reid's Eagles, 4-10. The exact opposite.

1st,,, you would be correct that the silly COMBINE numbers are about as useless as the old TATS on a Bull. And until these moron "talent evaluators" and supposed "experts" stop using those numbers as the bible the draft will always be a disaster. And there will always be the incredible average of 3 out of 10 top 10 picks to be busts.
But what the hell do I know. They are the "experts" and they keep doing what has failed miserably. And it's excepted.
2nd - are you talking about the DJAX on the Eagles ?? You know, the DJAX that was a big part of the "miracle at the Meadowlands part 2" ???
That DJAX ???
I didn't watch the game last night as I find the NFL currently unwatchable. But considering that the mighty 49ers defense is supposed to be so great, giving up 24 pts in the 4th quarter is rather embarrassing and shows again how bad this friggen league is. I don't care who the other team is. And 31 pts in the second 1/2 ???? Really. And that is good football ???
Hurry up Spring Training.
The defending SB champs get embarrassed again ??? Nice. Looking through the recaps it looks like it was another stellar Sunday of slop.

If you thought that last night's game, 49ers @ Patriots, was "unwatchable", then for the life of me, I can't see how you could bare to watch ANY of this Andy Reid coached Philadelphia Eagles's games this season or last season.

i think Reid is a nice guy. A bit bumbling at times and very stubborn but I don't hate him. Am grateful for the success he has brought us but I really wish we had a SB under him, and I wish him the best for the future. Agree he has to move on as he has came to the end of the road with us.
I think Harbaugh's personality is really grating. Mind you, Belichik, Lombardi, Coughlin, Jimmy Johnson - would never win a popularity contest but they win championships.

You're right. I'm being hard on the guy. He takes full responsibility. He get's it. He just has to do a better job.

No. I'm not dissing myself. I'm just trying to show all of the Andy Reid apologists the fruits of his 14 years of labor here in Philadelphia.

That's your opinion. I respect that, but I disagree, and yes I have lived in Philadelphia my entire life and have been an Eagles fan the entire time. I'll be at the game on Sunday, and I want this team to win a Superbowl.
Maybe this organization and fan base needs to diss itself.
