as the season keeps going on here are the changes that i hope to happen for our success for years to come!
FIRED- Andy Reid and all other Staff
HIRED- Gus Bradley (HC), Hue Jackson (OC), Mike Singletary (DC).... talk about discipline....
CUT/Gone- Mike Vick, Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers- Cromartie, Demetress Bell, King Dunlap, Jeremy Maclin (traded to MIA for 3rd rd pick in 2013), Trent Edwards, Nate Allen, Mike Patterson, Stanley Havilli, Akeem Jordan, Darryl Tapp, Jake Scott
DRAFT TRADES- Eagles trade 4th overall pick in 2013 draft to New York Jets for their first round pick in 2013, first round pick 2014 and their 2nd round pick in 2013.
RESIGNED- Jon Dorenbos LS, 2 years 1.5 million, Mat McBriar 1 year 1 million, Cullen Jenkins (cap number down 3 million)
FREE AGENTS- Erin Henderson LB 4 years 22 million, Brian Leonard FB/RB 2 years 3 million, Mike Wallace WR 6 years 60 million, Sean Smith CB 5 years 40 million, Jason Campbell QB 1 year 2 million
DRAFT-
1) Jake Matthews OT Texas A&M- we get the next best thing to Joeckel and later on too. He can come in and play RT right away and will move Herremans back to the inside.
2) Matt Elam S Florida- the electric guy at saftey we need for this defense for years to come.. will come in and replace Coleman immediately at FS.
2) TJ McDonald S USC- yes another saftey.. will come and start at SS on the other side of Elam..starting two rookies may be risky but these guys are legit.. bringing a presence of big guys in the secondary and a ballhawk like the Seahawks have in Browner, Sherman and Chancellor.
3) Desmond Trufant CB Washington- The rebuilding of the secondary continues. The younger brother of Marcus and Isaiah, Desmond could compete for a starting spot opposite of Sean Smith immediately.
3) Jordan Hill DT Penn State- love this guy, he knows how to get in the backfield of the QB and RB. had 9 TFL this year and 5 sacks. Could be the guy to replace Jenkins eventually at DT.
4) Braxston Cave C Notre Dame- provides better depth at C then Dallas Reynolds did. may be a sleeper to take over Kelce possibly if Kelce is only a Howard Mudd scheme guy.
5) Xavier Nixon OT Florida- comes in and replaces King Aint dun crap as the backup LT, although Kelly will likely play before Nixon there, he's better than Dunlap IMO.
6) Michael Buchanan DE Illinois- a fastball guy that could be used like Bruce Irvin was in SEA but at an a lot later round.. Bradley is going to love having these types of guys on defense since we have a bunch of them already..
6*)Sam Brenner OG Utah- provides depth along the interior of the offensive line for now, merely a backup to Herremans and Mathis.
7) Tyraan Mathieu CB LSU- why not take a flyer on a guy that was a former heisman canidate in the 7th round?? he has big character issues, but is a classic boom/bust type of pick.
7*) Ja'Gared Davis LB SMU- a small LB that Bradley likes and fly around the field, may wind up being a better fit then thought, and could be a sleeper possibly??
*- projected compensation picks

having this team for the future is what we need here in my opinion.. I think the defense here is built for now and the future. with a young secondary, young Dline and young LB corps the defense will be ready to go.. Having Mike Wallace and DeSean on the outside will be terror's for defenses for years to come.. and if it doesn't work out with Foles we have 2 first round pick in 2014 to try and make this team even better.
