Andy's Statement Today

I'm confused and perhaps in the dark as an out of town fan. What necessitated Andy's statement today about Garret? I feel like he addressed this in the preseason. I'm unsure why he needed to revisit this today. What am I missing?

Hard to imagine how all of this could have been going on in a dorm room in training camp with all those people around.
Incredibly sad and incredibly tragic.

It sure doesn't contribute to a positive image of the organization/team. It's possible he wasn't giving it to Eagles players, but it definitely creates speculation and could warrant an investigation.

Sorry to be 'insensitive', but when is it that we finally start dealing with this organization's future?

Very true.... this season cannot get over fast enough and the urgency to turn the page gets higher and higher.
We are talking about a major franchise in the sports entertainment business whose product has dropped about as low as it can possibly get and is now forced to deal with the embarassment of having its most powerful executive and face of the franchise for the last 14 years somehow having his son on staff at training camp with horribly addictive drugs and illegal performance enhancing steriods in his possession.
I too, hate to be "insensitive" and as I said in a post above this is an incredibly sad and incredibly tragic mess.
But, I'm sorry this whole scene stinks to high heaven.... The judgement this franchise has displayed is really hard to fathom.

Tragic would mean it couldn't have been avoided. This should never have been an issue here, but was allowed to be by the powers that be.
Again, sorry to be 'insensitive', but reality quite often sucks.

A drama or literary work in which the main character is brought to ruin or suffers extreme sorrow, especially as a consequence of a tragic flaw, moral weakness, or inability to cope with unfavorable circumstances.
Yeah, absolutely callous, Mr. Moral. I know the definition of the word, and don't need your sermon.
There are a lot of questions that could be asked as to why this guy was ever allowed to be in that position, given his history. There are many more equally insensitive questions, as well. When will we as a fan base ever be released from thinking only about this guy, and his future?
I envy fans of teams whose concern is about things like playoff games, or even the off season and possible changes to improve their team.

You are using the definition of 'tragedy' that mainly pertains to a play or a book (although it still is a somewhat accurate description of what happened). If you want to continue to say or think this wasn't a tragic event instead of just admitting you are wrong, it is your problem. You made a callous statement and there is no other way to spin it. I guess you need to look 'callous' up too.
It is easy to figure out why G Reid was in that position. If you have or had an issue with it, it is probably time to let it go.
When will the fan base be released from thinking only about Reid and his future ? Stupid question but... a lot of fans have already written Reid off and are looking towards the future. You should try it.
