You said "Fitzgerald never helped his team to loads of success", i'm pretty sure 1000+ yards and 13 touchdowns in that 2009 SB run qualify as help.

He also had 1,400 yards last year WITHOUT Kurt Warner at qb so what is your point?

Are you saying that one player can carry another 51 players to success?  Because if so can you please show me any team that had only one player carry the entire team.

I mean... maybe Adrian Peterson...

I can't bring myself to read the whole thread but I believe Greg Jennings may be hitting availability come next season.

This is an Angelo Cataldi inspired discussion if I ever saw one.

get that big WR put maclin in the slot cut avants snaps, use him on 3rd downs.

It's hard to determine if that will work though. I agree Maclin would be good there, but that's a position where you need to fully embrace your role on the offense. Is Maclin really up for that at this point in his career?

Da'Rick Rogers

Not every day you can steal a number 1 WR in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft.
See: Bryant, Dez.

Even though he was taken in the first, he was supposed to be good value there and as always showed that headcase receivers are sketchy. I'd make sure he's really the best option before pulling the trigger on him in the second.

Does anyone see value in someone like Jermichael Finley?
Run a lot of 2 TE sets, heavy play action for foles on the back of McCoy and Brown.

he'd certainly give us a big time red zone target. Something we have been missing for sometime. Red zone with McCoy, Brown, Maclin, Finley and Celek sounds alright to me. Huge upside.

Its not a #1 but i think a big target like him, would do wonders for us in the red zone but also open up things for our smaller guys in the system. I dont think that grouping has a genuine #1. But it's good enough not need one. Jackson, Maclin, Finley and Celek are a tough unit to defend when your a run heavy offense and working on a good play action. Big and physical over the middle, short and fast on the outside, with the ability to burn if the DBs bite on play action.

So even though Maclins and Bowes numbers are almost identical since Maclin has been in the league, and even though Bowe has far more drops then Maclin in those same 4 years, and even though we all know the history of the failure of free agents, you still would rather have Bowe ????
Hmmm ????
Seems like maybe you haven't watched many of the Chiefs games.

Maclin and Jackson are a bad duo to have against physical defenses.  Bowe creates a new match up problem.  I also like the Jermichael Finley Idea.

Finley is a beast, but very injury prone.

his injuries are a concern, and so are his drops, but he's coming off 2 pretty poor years, so i dont expect he would be asking for elite TE money, and we're about to have a **** load of cap space, once we cut Vick, and restructure/cut Nnamdi.

the other GB option is Greg Jennings. He's a legit #1, granted he's a short term solution due to his age, but he will give us time to focus on other areas in this draft and then we can look to draft our future #1 next year

I think Jennings is way overrated. He's injured more than Maclin and Aaron Rodgers makes any receiver looks like a star. Nelson had 10+ TDs last year and now James Jones has 10+ TDs

maclin played the slot his entire college career and gets plently of slot snaps since he has been here.

jordy nelson is a beast. james jones is good to, he just needed to catch the ball more consistently.
