Well, it happened about 3-5 years too late, depending on who you ask. But this is it...we are officially into the rebuilding years. I'm glad it's finally begun, so we can get it over with.

We forced ourselves into this position, at this point "rebuilding" is our only option.

that's what happens when you keep giving "handouts" to a HC that realistically should have been gone 6 seasons ago.....
and now with Roseman factored into the equation for the next 4 years this team is fuskered...

We definately need some changes, but I think the whole rebuilding talk is out of proportion.  We already have one of the youngest rosters in the league. We had one of the best drafts in the league last year.  There are a lot of future building blocks. Clearly we need to bring in some impact players to get us over the hump talent wise.  And some leadership to get players heads in the game. But I don't see a full rebuild.

Gutting the entire coaching staff and starting a 2nd year QB? Rebuilding.

Agreed. Worst case we get to see Foles get another year under his belt while we wait for a more QB-friendly draft.

The team will be a train wreck if they fire Reid and bring in Mike Leach or some other Kotite 2.0 coach.  Fortunately Reid is the boss and the boss isn't going anywhere.  Reid is gonna get this thing turned around this summer.

what this team needs is health. too many injuries killed the season. Too many young guys trying to step up all at once.

Should of happened in 2010 but Vick came and lit it up but lost to the pacjkers in the playoffs and we thought they had a shot at the super bowl in 2011 so they went all in getting a bunch of free agents but they finished 8-8.Just think if Kolb was are starting QB instead of Vick the past few years they would of probably had a shot at Luck or RG3

Well for all the hate whatever they did to change things in how they draft for at least this year has been a home run. Gotta think that was a upstairs move to actually take the b.p.a

This team has been rebuilding since the Maclin/McCoy draft.  What they tried to do was add big time free agents along the way to fill in some gaps and stay competitive.  That idea backfired obviously as the mix just didn't gel the last couple of years.

It was a valiant effort, but it didn't work.  Can't go back in time now.  We can only look forward.  Time to focus on the young guys we've got here and build around them long term.  Not short term.

True, although without the right QB at the helm, we are assured of mediocrity at best.

this. The quick fixes didn't work but the nuclues is still here. I think we just need Foles to get next year under his belt and we will be back toward the top with two good drafts. Look at the rest of our division. In two years Romo will only be getting older if he is still there. The giants will be what they always are 8-8 to 10-6 and the Redskins are going to go back to reality. I know many think the skins are now the team to beat because they got RG but in reality the price they paid for him will catch up to them. They have 0 cap space,0 1st round picks, a horrible secondary, mediocre wr's,and a running qb who has already missed time due to injuries as a rookie. Teams will study the film and i predict RG will have a sohpmore slump.

What you say seems like it would be obvious to every fan. As you said, they swayed from they had always done and it backfired.
Oh well. They tried and it didn't work.
But there is plenty of young talent on this team to start with and rcover rather quickly from with the right coach.

Can you imagine interviewing for the head coaching job knowing that you have these offensive guys already in place.
RB - McCoy, Brown, Havilli
TE - Celek
WR - DJAX, Maclin, Avant, Johnson
OL - Peters, Herremans, Mathis, Kelce

And these defensive players already in place.
DL - Cole, Graham, Curry, Cox, Jenkins, Thornton, Landri
LBs - Ryans, Kendricks, Chaney
CBs - DRC, Boykin
S - Allen

And special teams players.
Henery
Johnson
Dorenbus
Anderson
Jordan

Yes, they need players. But there certainly is plenty to work with.

You know this before the Eagles even signed their new coach. Wow, I guess you figure that the talent on the eagles is so good, it doesn't matter who the next head coach is. We don't even know is Foles is a good NFL qb yet?

It's the ebb and flow of football and pro sports. Teams rise and fall. It's amazing anyways how the Eagles stayed so good for so long. Rare to happen.

I don't think this team is a train wreck, but it is in a rebuilding state. When I think of train wreck situations, I think of the Colts in the early 1980s. That team was constantly around 2-14 or 4-12 and they were almost completely barren of talent. The Eagles have some nice pieces to work with.  A new coach and a solid draft could have this team be competitive for a playoff spot next year. We are probably 2 years away from being a legit contender though.
