He's going to be such a monster for this team. Honestly we should try to trade Cole as well and see wha we could get for his worth. He's done. Great player but no leadership.

Graham and his potential all hinder on his health which this year has been fantastic and to think I thoughts the coaches didn't like him and were down on him and now he plays and he's a beast, thanks Andy

I don't even know that it was a scheme problem. When he's been on the field he's been productive.

I don't agree with this.

The Trent Cole bashing is really bothering me. I  basically haven't posted on these forums in years but now I feel compelled.

Trent Cole has done nothing to deserve the fans' ire. He was one of our very best players for years. Now he has one bad season, amidst a ton of team turmoil and defensive changes, and he's a bad guy, and can't lead, and so on and so forth?

No one will deny he's had a bad year, but unlike Babin, you can never question Cole's effort. Nor does he do or say anything to deserve any criticism.

If you want to claim he's lost a step, go ahead. I personally think he's been much better since Washburn left. But the talk as if he is a problem is too much.

This is the EMB.

Where fans *think* they're knowledgeable but have never played a down on any level in their lives.

Where Shady McCoy coming off a 20 TD season is replaceable by Bryce Brown.

More idiots wanting to trade home grown veteran talent.

Dumbest fans around.

Still not as worse as the morons wanting to trade McCoy after seeing Brown in 1 game.

i agree with you there. It is possible that he has lost a step but he has been a monster here for the past six years. He's played two good games since the washburn dismissal. If anything we should simply make him a 3rd down pass rusher unless curry is the truth which we have seen no proof of as of yet.

It sounded more like a bad coach in Washbum than a bad scheme.

Graham has looked better this year. The question is, what scheme will we be running next year? If it's the 3-4, and we move Cox and Jenkins to DE and draft someone like Lotulelei at NT, can Graham transition to the OLB?

Yeah I don't know if we have anyone who can play the rush 3-4 lb.

Graham has been productive all year in limited snaps.  Washburn just had his head up his a** about many things but in this case starting someone over his boy.  Graham has been held back by McD and Seagrest his first year, injury in his second and the  two previously mentioned idiots until the end of this season.

As far as Cole goes I'm still puzzled by him.  He was not good this year.  He has looked better the last few games though which clouds the issue.  Did he lose a step, did he have a problem with Washburn and or his scheme, is it a bit of both?

Graham is going to be solid in a sound, unchaotic scheme. Is it me or is he one of the most outspoken guys on the team too? Saying basically everyone knows Reid is gone, and before that telling Bryce Brown through the media you have to hold onto the football. I think he might be a little too big mouthed.

I was going to say this, too.  What he needed was to get 100% healthy.

I've got to agree with you on this, and it's not so much being outspoken as it is just not knowing how to speak in front of a mic.

Spot on.
Hard to believe there were actually fans thinking that with Bryce. Amazing.
Absolutely amazing.

Yes you will get much deserved hate for this.  If we trade everyone who had a down year this year, there wont be enough guys to play.  The least of these should be Cole.  Give Graham his props....be excited about Curry....but please dont trade Cole.  This isnt Madden where the CPU will give you Larry Fitzgerald if you sweeten it with draft picks.

Cole loved playing for Brasher his rookie season and was sorry to see him retire. He may be rejuvenated for the remainder of the season.

why every time a young player plays well, does someone start a trade a veteran player thread. cole has been a great player for the eagles.

how about we see how cole and graham play together, the remainder of this season and next year.

Why does everyone bash Trent Cole so much now?  Almost every year he has had double digit sacks and busts his butt on almost every play.  Sure he is having a down year but pretty much our entire defense sucks this year.  I don't want to get rid of Trent Cole.  Keep him and let Brandon Graham start along side him and see if Graham can do it for a full season.  Who knows he might only be tearing things up because the guys blocking him have been playing all year and are wearing down while he is fresh.

I will admit that I called Brandon Graham and bust, and as of now that looks very wrong. He has played great since he became a starter.
