Fans of other non-sports things are vocal and downright nasty if they don't like something. You don't see musicians, actors, corporations, government leaders, etc. bashing their fans or paying customers when they are putting out a bad product and the fans react. If they do, they are criticized for it and end up having to apologize.

Athletes complaining about the fans is hysterical. We're the reason you get to make millions of dollars playing a game...

Lol at how the comments on that article somehow turned into a Eagles fan bashing fest.

Then instead of posting here all day, buy some tickets and go to the game.

Philadelphia, New York and Minnesota come to mind as cities that would rival Chicago for the “band wagon” award….. They still show up but their pure support is questionable at best….

This season has actually opened my eyes when it comes to Philly in particular...I always thought you guys lived and died with your team, but this season I've seen an alarming number of empty seats fairly early in games.

New England isn't any different.
This isn't Green Bay or Buffalo. In bigger cities people have lives/other means for entertainment and if the product is subpar, people will bail. I wouldn't be shocked if the Eagles had a blackout or two, next year.
As for Briggs's comment. The way players view fans is pretty much how most people view their extended family. They aren't as important as your siblings/parents (teammates/coaches) but you still love them if they are extremely nice and supportive (Seattle, New Orleans), you're indifferent to them if they don't affect you (Tennessee, St.Louis) and you keep your distance if they're negative and bishy (New York, Philthy, Boston)

Briggs and Urlacher should stick to linebacking.
