Im really liking this idea at the moment.

If Arians is willing to go after an NFL head coaching job, I could see him looking to the Pittsburgh staff for his own staff. It reminds me of when Spagnuolo got the Rams job. He looked to what he knew. He went to the Eagles for Pat Shurmur.

THIS!
Anyone who goes back far enough and remembers when Arians was here in Philly as head coach of Temple (when other then he was there, Temple was a laughingstock of college football before Al Golden came along), he actually almost got Temple to a bowl game during a time when Temple rarely had winning seasons (including a 7-4 record under Arians in 1990). He has been LONG overdue to get a head coaching gig of his own and he would be the first one I talked to, even ahead of Chip Kelly.

Except it wasn't Arians in 1990, it was Jerry Berndt. The best Arians did was going 6-5 in 84, and 86, with the 86 record being wiped from the books, I believe because Paul Palmer was ineligible. With that being said, I think he'd be a great coach. The biggest thing against him is his age.

Seriously now, you are going to judge a guy because of 1 year ??? Really.
I think you might want to go look at his history of almost 25 years in the NFL not just 1.
Listen, did the Colts have a pretty good year ??? Absolutely.
Again, you can't just look at what someone did for a single season. LOTS OF COACHES AND PLAYERS HAVE A SINGLE SEASON OF GREATNESS.

I forgot, it had been so long. I do remember Arians having success here with Temple (6-4-1 and 6-5 seasons were considered successful for Temple back then, especially given Temple often had to play "payday" games where they would get creamed by far superior opposition).
Point is, Arians deserves a shot at becoming a head coach and he would make the most of it.
