Reid, whose 14-year tenure with the Eagles is believed to be coming to an end, is seeking to coach elsewhere in 2013 and is expected by those close to him to move on regardless of whether Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie wanted him to return.

My only question is,  when did he decide that he didn't want to be here next year?  Was it before the season started? Was it when the team was 3-1?  Or,  was it just this week?

you're reading too much into this. He probably never said he doesn't want to be here but only that he wants to coach, and will coach somewhere, here or otherwise, next year.

Hes going to be fired regardless.  But i truely believe if he had a choice he would want to coach here.  Hes a good guy and despite all the crap fans give him he is still loyal to the city.

It's simply time for Andy to go.  Andy's feelings were probably hurt when Lurie came out less than 2 weeks after Andy lost his son and gave the world the win or else mandate.  Then, Andy's agent said that Lurie promised that he would never fire him and Lurie contradicting that statement.   The bottom line is that Andy was probably kept too long by a couple of seasons.  Both the Eagles and Andy need a new start.

I think you have a point.  Something about that part of the story just doesn't add up.  If it wasn't for the fact that it came from CBS Sports website,  I would really have a hard time believing it.

Allen played better his rookie season than he is now. It has to be coaching.

Do you actually read through a thread before you post,  or do you just add your useless contribution for your own self satisfaction?  I already stated that it sounded funny,  but still it came from CBS Sports' website.

JMO, but maybe 50% of him wants to still coach here and give it another go with his fourth QB in Foles, but the other 50% is probably ready to try his schtick in another NFL city.

I want him gone.  And the entire coaching staff gone too.  New, fresh blood with a different thinking for football is what this franchise needs.

How many "on the record" sources usually come with stuff like this? None. Are they always wrong or off base? No. Heed your own advice, stop the stupidity.

he's in a mess here.  the team is flatlined and he's had a lot of personal trauma that i'm sure being here reminds him of.  he needs a change of scenery.

Why does the national media love this guy so much?  Billick said it again today, "you may find a different coach, but you won't find a better one."  Seriously?  Wasn't the same things being said when Ray Rhodes and Richie Kotite were being pushed out?  How'd they fair in their next city?  I wish Reid success, but unless the personnel decisions and defense are out of his hands I doubt he'll have it.

I don't think he will have that much power in his next head coaching job.

I'm betting it's from his agent. Wasn't it his agent that made the comment that lurie said andy can stay as long as he wants and that wasn't true

Sure was. Hence prompting lurie to issue the "8-8 unacceptable" comment

Reid is under contract through the 2013 season. So say he quits if some one wants him, they'll have to compensate the Eagles first

Kind of like going after a retired player, no?

Let me tell you, if the title of the thread is correct, than that explains the disaster of the season we're having.  Still having trouble to digest the prospect of having Chip Kelly at the helm of this club.

Reid is under contract thru next year so how much choice does he have? I'll bet they "agree to part ways" after next week.

I would imagine that if Reid wants to coach elsewhere in 2013, he and the Eagles would have a negotiated settlement to the remainder of his contract.

You're one to call someone a scumbag.   Your arguments are weak.  Your intelligence is low.  You should stay in WU with the rest of the people who still live with their parents.
