@Brianfive, when is the last time you seen an Eagles offensive linemen just allow a rusher to get to Foles untouched.

I'm sorry but Vick is the best option for this team and will be for the next couple of years. You all do understand that Vick played behind the 2nd worse o-line in the league rite? And I'm not going make excuses for his miscues this season but if you ppl really think Ried and Vick are to blame this season, then you should go see a shrink and you don't know football. Vick isn't doing well with the pocket passing system tho he does decent in the pocket. But he is a west coast offense player and he should have been used to his talents not what ppl want him to be. If you look at his whole career he is a winning QB far as seasons go. He may not have put up big passing numbers but the wins came in and the team always was near the top in rushing and gave the team balance to win. TEAM VICK 4-LIFE.
At what point in AR's tenure has he ever had a QB play to his talents? Garcia, maybe? Reid and MM don't do that. They try to make their O (which really hasn't been the WCO since TO got here) work with a pocket passer. That is fine since Vick and McNabb are better at the long game than most. And they do a good job of coaching up the QB's.  But their lack of balance in the play calling department has allowed opposing Defenses to tee off on them. Play action doesn't work, and when Vick improvises he fumbles or throws picks. He doesn't anticipate where the blits is coming from, and is too short to be effective at the hot routes. Always getting deflected.

What everyone fails to consider is how poor this offense works in the red zone. Part of it is MM just stinks. The other part is Vicks size limits the playbook in tight quarters. part of that is because his WR's are midgets. Notice when RC came back against Dallas, Vick hit him for the opening TD in the RZ. But when Vick scrambles, ask yourself: Are you rooting for him to score, or are you saying "please don't fumble"? Thought so.

What if Foles is playing politics? Knowing that the Giants' defense is going to bring their "A game"; Foles can protect his image by not losing another game as a starter in which that would protect his starting position. I think with the Giants fighting for a playoff berth, the Giants have enough videos on Foles to expose his weakness and that weakness is that he hates being knockdown. I think it is better politically to sit out than to have a record of winning 1 game out of seven.
Giants D is terrible. Would have been a good spot for Foles to look good. They have been fighting for a playoff spot for 3 weeks now. They are 1-2 and looked real bad in the 2 losses. Now they are going to bring their A game? They don't have an A game. NFC East is terrible once again. If we aren't good, the division is lackluster. We control the NFC East.

It's funny how on the NFL Network they're placing some of the blame on the Giants offensive line. I guess when a offensive line don't give "a smart,  great defense reader, blitz reader, traditional, or pocket passer" 4-5 seconds to throw the ball, the pocket quarterback struggles. Show me a good offensive line and I will show you a good quarterback. Show me a struggling offensive line and I will show you a struggling quarterback.

As opposed to the other QB's who love being knocked down?

@T.McGee I hate to defend the Giants but they lost to the Ravens and Atlanta. I could see if they had lost to the Chiefs or Detroit.

The Eagles are undefeated when Vick starts against the Giants. Interesting. It's all up to the offensive line's pass protection, with that being said, have Trent Edwards on stand by.

Foles has weaknesses the deep ball is one of them and he needs to improve his footwork...But I never heard of a QB hates being knocked down as a weaknesses that must be a weakness of every QB in the NFL because none of them like to get hit or knocked down.

arg7822 I can name plenty.  Lack of mobility, weak arm, knack for losing, lack of creativity in clutch situations, 1-6 just to name a few.

I tell you what.  I will take Foles over Alex Smith any day.

Poor Edwards. Vick should just focus on handing off the ball this week. Also, the inflatable Swoop is a bit of a pervert

I did. I said his downfield passing needs work. Maybe that was another thread. Anyway. Early on he was telegraphing passes and throwing into double coverage. Scheme changed for him to get rid of the ball quicker. Also, like the rest of the rookies, he holds the ball like a loaf of bread. Other than that, I think Foles has played well, improved from the start, and deserves the right to go into training camp as the starter (without a number 1 pick to have to compete with).

They didn't lost the the Falcons and the Ravens. They got smoked. Giants have mailed it in. They go through these cycles under Coughlin where they can beat anyone and lose to anyone. When they are hungry, they are unstoppable. But this year, they just don't have it. Especially late. I am guessing Foles would have had another 300+ day and Vick may well also. Hope that when Vick does well this week, TATE isn't filled with"Keep Vick rhetoric. Too expensive.

Weak arm as in constantly overthrowing the deep ball? Lack of creativity as in underhanded shovel passes and 20 yard scramble TD's. Or how about no time left roll right bullet to the spot where only Maclin can get it. Yeah, he sucks.
Lack of mobility? What games are you watching? Rewatch the games and watch how he moves and slides in the pocket. Your just not used to seeing that from an Eagles QB because we only got it for 8 games from Garcia and from no one else...EVER! Finally we have one who knows how to move correctly, and you tag him with 'lack of mobility".

Some of of u guys say stupid things like u.dont watch or understand football , which is the case sum of u wont admit. Foles is an excellent decision maker, very accurate while moving surprisingly. Yes he has to work on.the deep ball and that will come with more practice with the wrs hes throwing to. Thats it wrapped up. Hes shown enough to have the advantage going into next season to be the starter.  Last game ge threw 1 poor pass and that was the under throw to maclin...and he wont say it but i will, i think.the combination of seeing him open so fast with the hair line fracture affected the throw. Foles has my support for next year, espec with a better o line.

Foles numbers in his seven games played are pretty good! If he works hard on the off season and stays healthy he might be something special next year. The difference between Vick and Foles. Foles is a rookie and is excepted to make rookie mistakes. Mike is a 11 year Vet and makes rookie mistakes, can't read defenses, turnovers, and gets paid Elite pay. With that being said! I wouldn't mind keeping Mike Vick if he took a pay cut. I think Mike is still a good QB and could lead a team. I wouldn't mind seeing Nick, Mike and Trent battle for the starting QB job. The truth is all three of them could lead this team. I wouldn't mind seeing Nick sit for another year to have more time to mature.

My concern about Foles after six games is that he may just be an O.K. quarterback.  No star there.  I guess we should give him another year.  Will it be another Andrew Luck story?  Having a mediocre quarterback in the NFL is quite a handicap and it may doom the Eagles next year as well, no matter who is coaching.  RG3 looks much better as a rookie than Foles does.  It is going to be a  difficult next few years for the Eagles unless there is a major improvement in the offensive line, defense, safety positions, special teams.  The Eagles have never recovered after the death of Jim Johnson as defensive coordinator.  No one has adequately filled his shoes.

I don;t see Michael Vick as an "elite level" QB any longer.  Early in the year did anyone notice how bad he was reading defensive alignments, taking timeouts because he was unsure.  Terrible passes with multiple interceptions. I don;t thin he made one long pass to a running receiver Jackson or Avant all year.
Yet Vick believes he should be a starter and not go to back-up role.  Granted the offensive line did him in but he did hold the ball too long quite often also.
If Vick and Andy Reid return it will be another disastrous season.  Contact me for my season tickets next year.  i will be happy to sell them.
Andy should be fired about 30 minutes after we lose to the Giants.

Foles will be a very good qb maybe even better little to early to tell. He has improved a lot in the couple games he played. He has played well with a horrible o line. Wide receivers that have been hurt. Hurt rb and te. We need o line help/. A safety and one good corner. We signed otogwe when we should have signed Bell. That hurt us. Should kept castillo atlleast until end of season.
