Obviously whoever the coach is next year Foles will be competing for a start against a new guy, Vick is as good as gone.

Have you seen enough to be content with Foles if he starts next season?

I certainly have. I think if we give him next year and he shows no improvement and struggles then we keep him as a back up and we draft our qb the following year where hopefully there is a stronger class!

Foles first 6 starts have been posted numerous times in comparison to Mannings and Luck. Its clear to see he's punched above his weight for a 3rd rounder.

I've seen enough over his 6 starts to believe that he can be a starting caliber QB in the NFL; and a good one at that!

He starts next year period. If he's good great. If not we'll be crappy and have a good draft pick to draft a qb next year. Win-win

I wouldn't mind bringing in competition. But, in 2013 there doesn't seem to be a better option available.

I think he will be fine.. next year will allow him to absorb the swirl of the first season, he is still a kid, off season he should improve physically..
I'm sold and like what I see, allot of people say he reminds them of this and that QB, I think in the long run he will be Nick Foles and fine.

There are absolutely no good QB prospects coming out this year. Foles is a lucky, lucky man.

Do you think whatever coach we have will like Foles enough to give him a run next year?

What other options do we have? Foles did better than Vick and had less around him. I think he generally makes the right reads but obviously there are concerns. We just need to shore up the offensive line and get some more/better depth. The QB can look a LOT better if that is taken care of, despite who it is back there.

What else will be out there? Nothing considerably better, it appears.

To the Vick lovers...he's only going to decline at this point. He can't read a defense and throws to guys after they are open. Time to move on, whether or not that's Foles, who knows.

I think the main reason he isn't going to start next week is because that's the reason.

In the 2013 offseason, he's done enough to keep the job heading into next year. There's only one legit top 5 QB in the draft (Geno Smith) and no clear cut starters likely to be available in free agency or via trade. But if we were looking at a draft/free agency like last year, his performance hasn't been good enough to dissuade to try to trade up for a Luck or Griffin or sign Manning.

I still wouldn't put all of my eggs in his basket. I'd look into acquiring another QB who can push him and step in if he falters.

Sure, he is a tad more consistent.  His turn-over tendencies are similiar to most rookies, his % comp is decent.  He has the ability to move around in the pocket and make decent decisions.  He has the arm.  I think his success long-term will be dictated by conistent OL, and adequate coaching/development.  I think we could put the right people around him to not HAVE to depend on him to carry the team (A LA Vick).  He is fun to watch for a different reason.  When I see him make mistakes, I see him bounce back quickly.  I like what I have seen so far.  Ideally we would have a better situation for him to develop in, but whatever.  Yeah, give him a legitimate shot again next year.  Either way I think we are still in rebuilding mode.

Foles should start next year, if he plays well then we have ourselves a NFL quality QB. If he doesn't play well, our record should be bad enough that we can still get a QB early the first round in 2014.

Do I have to leap across the internet and through your computer screen to Beach Slap some common sense in you?
Are you kidding me?
Foles looked much better than vick all season and pre-season
But the ROOKIE played his game with both starting Tight Ends Out, 4 of five backup linemen, no desean... are you effing kidding me?
Give this kid a clean chance next year and all the talking heads will be about AR was a genius etc.. but yeah Nick Foles has made me a believer

Are you off your meds or something?

Being better than Vick is no longer an accomplishment. Foles has played well but no where near enough to hand him the keys to the kingdom for the next decade. Considering any QB in this years draft and FA is not a substantial improvement over Foles, we have to ride with him in 2013. If he improves in 2013 and wins a lot of games, we can move forward knowing we have our franchise center piece, if not draft a QB in 2014.

He deserves to be the day 1 starter. Make someone outplay him to get the job(maybe a draft pick who falls in the draft)

The  Vick fans are expecting him to have the same kind of season that the other rookie QB's are having. Simply because he was named the strarter in week 10. That one word changed their  mind set. But what they refuse to take into consideration is he was never even projected to be the back up when camp or the season opened. The fact that he has performed as well as he has, given the circumstances says volumes to me about the kid. I think he has shown that with a solid O line and a defense that can keep them in the game that he can be a very solid QB. He understand the game. He's proven that beyond a doubt.

Nor are they considering that he has been going up against play off agenda seeking teams .Unlike Vick's 4 game bogus  winning streak of last year.

To start for the next few seasons? I don't know.

To start next season? Yes, certainly. This answer may be different if there was a Luck or an RGIII in this draft, but there isn't.

I'm happy with Foles AS OF NOW... It's too bad he isn't getting the chemistry with the first team right NOW. He won't need chemistry with second and third stringers as much later down the road..

I hope you realize that virtually everyone is just talking about letting Foles start next season and nobody is saying to sign him to an extension yet. At least nobody that I have seen anyway.

All of what you said here. Besides, there's almost no option in the draft or FA, at least not that I know of.

I haven't seen enough to say he's a certain long time starter, but I haven't seen anything to say he can't be. He still has work to do for sure, mainly his deep throws. I'd like to see him with better coaching, and our offense more intact.
