Doesn't this quote just sum up......

"I'm not going out to audition for a job. I'm going out to try and win, My play and what I've done for this league and the accolades that I have speak for themselves. The thing I want to do is improve. Whatever happens next year happens. I'm just going to be a guy who, wherever I'm at, I'm going to make the team better."
What he's done for the league???? Where to start? Any professional sports athlete not recognizing that it is nothing short of a privilege to be paid silly money to play a game millions would play for free needs a reality check at the very least. When the individual is a convicted felon who was given $100 million after two years in prison only amplifies that point.
I never thought he was a QB who could win championships anyway, but that is beside the point - this is a guy who should be on his knees every damn night thanking God for blessing him with the type of athletic gifts that would enable him to be handed millions upon release from jail for some pretty heinous crimes.

A quote like this just jumps out at you, however, because of the source. If there was ever a player who needed to show nothing but eternal gratitude for getting this second life and opportunity to make millions again, it would be this guy.

Notice how he showed oodles of gratitude when the Eagles first signed him, but that went away as soon as the ink dried on that $100 million contract? SHOCKING.

Didn't he just what you wanted him to say when he was demoted to QB #3 going into the Redskins game? In fact I think he did say he is just grateful to be on a team after what he has been through and that he doesn't know what the future holds but for now he needs to just work hard and help out Foles the best he can.
I think you guys are reaching here. This was his response to someone asking if this one sole game in week 17 which means nothing to the Eagles needs to be an audition for Vick going forward. Obviously not. Any team interested in picking him up next season won't look at just this one game to make a decision. Sort of like asking Reid if this game will help him land his next job.

C'mon, badmeets. Like I said, I put next to no stock in what players and coaches say publically, and never listen to interviews with them because of what a waste of time they are. But that quote just floored me, and probably reflects Vick's true feelings.

Any way you slice it, he's gone after this season. I think the handwriting is on the wall.
The Eagles may be as much as $20 mil. under the cap right now....if they get rid of Vick and Bell, then that number goes well above $30 mil.....Nnamdi too? ....$40 mil + under the cap.
This team is set for a total re-do......and keeping Vick makes no sense at all......shame they can't trade him for something....oh well.

A total rebuild is exactly what is needed, and wouldn't necessarily have to take that long, but it's just been tooooo many years, and tooooo damn many idiotic decisions. I don't trust Lurie even a little bit.

Dave, Vick really needs to be real with himself. We all know that he hasn't played well since 2010.

I got a huge kick out of that too!!

I don't know why the rest of the country doesn't seem to get it yet, but maybe after more bankruptcy, unemployment, and an economy that still sucks??

Nope. I have no faith even after the continued and even worse train wreck that will be the next 4 years that anyone will ever "get it". If they haven't after the debacle of the last 4 years they simply won't.

Hey guys, the problem is not that they don't get it, it's that they do get it.
What we're seeing is the tipping point I didn't think would be here for another decade - the number of takers has now pretty much caught up to and surpassed the number of producers in this country, the same way it did in Europe. This is the 'transformation' Obama wanted, and now he's got it. There is every possibility we will never see anything but a Democrat President and Senate again, at least until it's too late to matter - and this ain't the Democrat Party of our parents' time.
Saddest of all is that there isn't an opposition party anymore - the Bushes and their cronies like Boehner and McConnell took care of that, but good.

That's usually the way history works with regard to societies - especially democratic societies. Once the public learns that it can vote to feed from the public trough, it's the beginning of the end. We've been building to this point since Roosevelt, and 'The Great Society' only hastened the trend. Obama is merely finishing the job.

I mean does it have to be "racist" to want people to take personal responsibility for their selves and their own lives? No matter your color, creed or circumstances, what REALLY is stopping you from getting an education, and a means to earn a living??? Yet victim-hood is taught/force-fed into the minds of all young people. Even the ones working hard in college to establish careers, THEY even back/support victimology.
Again, I just don't get it.

Fact is, the Northeast is nearly as bad as California.
I'll have to correct you, though - they do get it, and that's the problem. If they truly didn't get it, I'd have more hope.
Ignorance can be dealt with - political corruption and greed combined with an "entitled" populace are nearly impossible to defeat.
