Would you take a shot at Bill Obrien. He came through the Bellichek system... has done great with Pen State...

I would be happier with him then Chip Kelly, he took Pat McGloin and made him look respectable as a QB.....

he was my second choice behind David Shaw.  I'd be good with it.

I don't think he leaves PSU.  He realizes that situation is bigger than him and their record will never tarnish the NFL interest he has.  There will always be NFL jobs.  Who knows, maybe BB retires in a year and he heads back to NE?  He should be in no rush to move into any of these jobs.

I don't know a ton about him (or his availability), but what he accomplished this year at PSU was impressive and he has a strong pedigree.

I don't see many teams willing to pony the $9-10 million buyout for his PSU contract, and on top of that pay him another $5-6 million per year for 4-5 years.

What does "bigger than him" mean?  Do you know for sure whether he'd like the chance to coach in the NFL?  He's only been there a year, and no one would blame him for taking an NFL Head Coach job....it's not like resigning to go to another school.

O'Brien has it made in the shade in State College with one of the premier coaching jobs in all of college football.
He also has a severely disabled son and another small son. Why would he want to move his family again to take over a crap rebuild job ?

If our next coach sucks and a few years from now we have a top 5 pick we should draft Hackenberg at qb and also go after BOB if he's still at PSU and not with another NFL team.

Correct.  He's not leaving PSU right now.

O'Brien might consider coaching the Patriots if Belichick retires otherwise he stays at Penn State until he wins a national companionship.

Meaning he can't just leave after one year, after all that campus has been through.

It means that if he leaves, ALL the things he said to the players that stayed at PSU was a bunch of lies.  If he is a man of character, which I believe he is, he'll stay at PSU for a while to bring it out of this current situation.

O'Brien is actually a loyal man and will honor his promises to Hackenberg and the other commits.
The last thing he will do is take the Eagles crap rebuild job

Read the article Obrien may have an out since he was gauranteed that the Sandusky issue would not have NCAA ramifications, so by being heavily sactioned, that proved to be false... he does have an out....

He is not leaving Penn St. but I think he will make an excellent head coach.  One thing he does well is know how to work with the talent around him.

That is why guys like Harbaugh and Carroll are having success.  They know how to maximize what they have on the roster.

And he will be staying at Penn State.
