Yeah right, there's no clear cut "franchise QB" but this years draft is deep at OL, DL, LB, CB & S and considering the Bird's primary needs (in no particular order) are RT, S, CB, SLB and another DT to pair with Cox the strengths of this year's draft match up perfectly with thier needs.

I didn't say it wasn't a deep draft, I said it was void of top end talent, meaning players picked in the top 5 would normally be available several slots lower. But thanks again for showing how insecure you are when it comes to discussing the birds.

Sometimes it is. I dont follow it very closely, but I've heard enough about the upcmoing class to determine that it doesn't sound all that spectacular, at least according to those who get paid for paying attention to it.

It just seems like it's the go-to phrase around the league over the past few years.

The lack of a clear-cut franchise QB definitely hurts the top end of this draft, but there's some great talent at other positions. But with Howie Lawyer/Accountant/Bean-Counter/Pencil-Pushing-Deekhead running the show, who knows what we're gonna get. If it's the 2012 Howie draft... great. If it's the 2011 Howie draft.... Why if there were a couple franchise QBs like Luck and RG3 slated to go 1 - 2?  Get the f outta here with that BS.

If the Birds walk away with say Jarvis Jones, Joeckel, Lotulelie, Moore, Milliner, or even Teo with the 4th pick I'll be more than satisfied because any one of them will fill a glaring need.

But thanks again for showing how FOS the jersey fans here are because if they were picking 4th I guarantee you'd be talking about the next can't miss superstar they'll be landing and even picking around 20th you'll be crowing about whomever they get as the missing ingredient that assures they'll be back on top, but since both teams are now home for the New Year you're reduced to transparently playing the "having the 4th pick" is no better consolation prize then jersey getting squat for their subpar effort.

Again you're having trouble comprehending. Are you going to get a nice player in the 4th spot? I should hope so. Will that player turn your franchise around, probably not.

In regards to cap space, the Birds always have more cap space than the Giants and most other teams. What has it gotten them?

Will guys return from injury? Sure they will. But you mentioned a few times that injured Giants will never be the same. What makes you think all of the Bird's injured players will return to top form?

Lets see if you can respond without hiding behind insults and smilie faces.

We'll get more than a 'nice" player with the 4th pick, your transparent attempts to downplay this years draft is nothing but wishful thinking.

Having an abundance of cap space (projected $30M or so under) will allow them to pursue any proven player(s) on the market they think will upgrade the roster, a luxury jersey won't have despite undeniably needing proven upgrades at several positions and is facing only cuts and/ resturcturings to even get under the cap, but just like the draft, picking the right players who fit the new regime's system is key.

Our 3 most significant injuries: Peter's will be 18 months removed from his injury at the start of camp, Kelce 11, DJax injury was to his upper body not knee or foot and none of those players could even remotely be labeled chronically injury-prone.

On the other hand Nicks is headed for his 6th leg/foot surgery in 5 years (this time the knee) and he, Tuck, Bradshaw and KP are all undeniable "chronically injury-prone", which of those 4 players can you realisticly count on to play a full season going forward?

I'm optimistic Nicks will return to form. I think Tuck will be a quality starter from here on out, nothing more. Bradshaw will never return to form (although he did break 1000 yards on a bad wheel), but I really like the Wilson/Brown combo going forward. I honestly don't know what to think about KP. The defense is so much better when he plays, but I'm not sure what his future holds.

The Giants will make some necessarily cuts and free up cap space. They always do. That said, cap space guarantees very little. Look at what the Eagles did with all that cap space a few years back.

How many times can any WR have leg/foot surgeries before they take an irreversible toll and diminish him physically? I feel for the kid and have followed him since HS but he's a human being, not a machine and his wheels very well and logically may never be what they once were.

Tuck get's 'nicked up" and misses games every year and his production this season (even at the start of the year when he was supposedly healthy) has undeniable tailed off even while asked to play the far less demanding LDE spot, so to expect him to magically stay legitimately healthy and play effecitively for 16 games seems to be based on nothing more than hope and is in direct contrast to the reality of both his health and production.

Obviously spent some of it on the wrong players, but the organization is heading in a new direction, so we'll see what they do with that "asset" this offseason.

Superbowls are overrated. Brian Billick won one and he is a terrible coach. They really mean nothing if you think about it.

This is 2012, and guess what? The Giants will not be winning a Superbowl!

The Giants are no better than the Eagles. No playoffs is no playoffs. It doesn't matter if you are 9-7 or 0-16. The Eagles and Giants both have the same percentage chance to win a Superbowl. That chance is:

0%

If Super Bowls are "overrated", we might as well pack this whole thing up and go home. What's the use of having a sports league if winning the championship "means nothing"?

I won't laugh at the Giants. They beat the Niners soundly this year and beat them in the NFC Championship Game last season.

I will say that the Giants puzzle me like no other team in the NFL. They can come out like gangbusters one week and then not show up for a week. Or two. They often seem lethargic or disinterested, especially during home games - and lately even on the road vs Atlanta and Baltimore. So I won't laugh, but I will scratch my head.

Super Bowls are overrated? Maybe the dumbest thing ever said, considering thats the point of every NFL season. Like rocketman said, the NFL might as well just pack it up and call it a day
