Yes, we know, you've been saying it over and over all day. But that's where it begins. The coach sets the character of the team and the QB is supposed to lead. This is where you begin to repair the damage.

during much of the Reid era the DC lead the team on the sideline/booth and a S lead them on the field
you just need leaders and guys that play with heart

Avant shouldn't talk, last year he bashed the fans for not being more supportive of loss after loss of home games.

The only thing about Avants' statement is when a team is 4-12, there aren't going to be a lot of good attitudes. Especially when a lot of jobs are on the line.

Valuing character worked when their drafts were successful and they were grooming their own guys with their own philosophy.
Once the drafts failed, they had to reach out to hired guns and mercenaries who were just out to make a buck and not truly become a part of the culture in Philly. Which is why you had a season full of people who stopped caring once the games stopped being fun for them. A lot of these guys' personal pride isn't attached to the team because they don't associate themselves with it....beyond cashing the checks.

says not everyone on the team fights..."you saw the tape"
"guys laid down"
"has to be corrected"
"has to be a total buy in from the players"
"we had dawk bwest and trotter.....maturity level is no longer here"
"young players have to mature"

I don't agree with that. Their best character guys were Dawkins(not a Reid draft pick), Trotter(not a Reid draft pick) Vincent(a signing) Runyan(a signing).

Yes, we had a core foundation of guys like that which helped set the tone. But even Westbrook, Sheldon, McNabb and Ike Reese took their jobs seriously enough to guide other players.

I think their early success had more to do with talent and character at key positions and most of those guys were not Reid era draft picks.
But even so, I ripped Roseman in my initial post and Roseman didn't put together those early teams. I was mainly talking about the last 4 years.
