>>DDD: didn't see Howie. sorry can't give you feedback on his interview. He IS a bright guy.

Lurie is too concerned about innovation and not concerned enough about discipline and execution. Lurie thinks and speaks like an investor / owner. Neither Lurie or Roseman or Smolenski are operations guys. The Eagles are a flippin' accounting firm: Lurie-Roseman & Smolenski Accountants R Us.

Lurie talks about football INNOVATION like its a tax strategy. I wanted to PUKE. No way I could listen to Roseman.

Woody..that displays of weakness yesterday pretty much sumed up the last 2 years of AR. That D quit...ASO is so soft...plays 7 yards off the WR...into the EZ and still commits a PI.

well...let your ears bleed. Howie said Don and I will talk to as many people...meaning interviewees for HC, and give our findings to Lurie for the final decision. Meaning Howie's output equals Lurie's input.

>>DDD: It is a process that characterizes Lurie. He trusts his financial captains to give him an accurate report. Lurie's chat today gave great insight as to WHY Mornhinweg was indulged despite being ineffective. Football Innovation is what drives Lurie these days. After a couple more 4-12 seasons, Lurie will discover that innovators rarely win. Its the teams that can execute most reliably that win.

yes..he clearly talked about offensive innovations.

Normally...the flashy players are weak and soft.

Wood -- that's the one thing I need to see eliminated from this team next year..the softness. The prettiness. The flash. I hate all of it. Sure, it made our team exciting for a few seasons....gave us a reputation as a "high octane" team....please, no more of that B.S. I want teams to fear our defense again. I want to run the ball down people's throats (EVEN IF THE RUN ISNT WORKING RIGHT AWAY) and pick teams apart with constant conversions.

I want to see the coach getting pissed on the sidelines, even if we're winning. I want to see a defense that swarms the ball-carrier and makes sure he hits the ground HARD on every single play. Make them apologize for ever thinking they could get a first down on us. That's what I want...a Philly Football team. Not that fluff we've been force-fed for the past 5 years

The worst thing about football today...everybody makes it complicated. Block and tackle really good...goes a long way.

That's the problem with trying so desperately to win. We had all these big-name guys who were SUPPOSED to already know how to play football...they were expected to be good so the coaches spent less time trying to get our younger guys to learn the (dare I say it) fundamentals. They preached fundamentals but obviously weren't coaching them. Maybe if we cut all the dead weight divas, we can focus on turning our young guns into intelligent football players

Wupper....my only concern with Lovie the issues that his teams seem to have on the O side of the football that he could never seem to correct....Would love to have him as like a DC if we could

What should have happened was they should have made Andy take this year off to mourn his son and ran with a interim head couch and be bring Andy back this coming up year.  Thats just my two cents.

93...Lurie said Howie's responsibility for the draft did not start until 2012. They also streamlined the evaluating process under Howie which probably led to his contract extension nobody knew about for some time. Yet Howie was made GM in 2010...what role as GM was he doing in 2010 and 2011?

Howie said in 2012 they went with BPA...before they were filling needs with BPA by position.

Before we anoint Andy as the Eagles coaching god we need to take his whole coaching career  with the Eagles in context.  He had good years early on and the peak was in 2004 with the Superbowl visit.  The team was up and and down since then, never again winning an NFC championship.  Yes he has the most wins but he had 14 years to get those numbers.  Most of the the wins came in the earlier years of his tenure.  I wish him more success elsewhere.  I think his coaching style needs to evolve if he is to be successful again.  It did not happen in Philadelphia.  The team and fans deserve better than what Andy can now offer.  Goodbye and good luck.
