He just said that he went back through the last 3-4 drafts and tried to figure out which member of the organization was best at finding talent, and that was Howie Roseman.

Apparently Roseman picked everyone in this past (2012) draft.

Nope, he said Roseman is fully, solely responsible for 2012, and pretty much anyone who got drafted and sucked before that was picked by someone else.

I'm sure what Lurie says should be taken with a grain of salt. I do, however, that Howie can be great at his job, and I'm not entirely certain why fans hate him so much when he continues to do a very respectable job as the GM.

This is what I thought. I notice with Banner gone the Eagles draft got better. I don't know where all the hate on Howie started.... oh yes I do, lazy media and some fans follow only what they hear come from the massive.

I think Howie will get us good talent from the draft.

Anyone else thinks this?

I didn't mind what Roseman has done. Everyone and their mother thought the Nnamdi signing was great. He went out and got Ryans on the cheap from the Texans. The 2012 draft looks promising so far with Cox grading out very well as a rookie and Foles, possibly, becoming something huge.

At the very least, Roseman likes to take risks and is a mover and a shaker. Will they all pan out? Of course not, but I like that he tries.

I hope it is true that Howie is 100% responsible for the 2012 draft because that may mean our drafts get better.

Remember we did pick a LB in the second round, something REID was not known for, so maybe it was all Howie.

I think Howie deserves another year or two to see how we develop, he may not know football like other GM's but he is doing what's best for this team.

This years draft was different than previous drafts, there were no WTF picks, no 225lb  DEs speedballs from some unknown college like Whatsamatter U

Here is a question i wanted to hear.....who was truely responsible for our free agent shopping spree which lurie pretty much admitted was the start of our demise? I just don't see that person as being andy reid. I hope it wasn't howie but where else should the finger go? There is no way you can tell me that reid who consistently built his teams through the draft was the one that decided we were going to go "all in". That being said it certainly was time for reid to go. 4-12 speaks for itself whether he is directly responsible or not. I just hope lurie doesn't pick a college coach who wastes are first round pick on a "mobile qb" when we have glaring holes and an obviously bright and promising nick foles on the roster.

I don't know how Lurie can be confident that HR knows what he is doing, if he is just basing it on this past draft.  I guess he didn't want Watkins, but any idiot could have told you Watkins and other picks in 2011 were dumb.

The fact that he admitted an attorney is the best talent evaluator in the building tells you all you need to know about why this team is where it is right now.

Lurie kept a list of what person was responsible for what player on this team/draft. That pretty much nails it. And very smart of Lurie to make/keep a list

Yea but that was to protect Reid. Didnt want to completely slight him there. I think its safe to say that Howie had the most input... with Lurie's support.
