Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia: Nick Foles finished 1-5 in six games as a starter for the Eagles, providing scant evidence that the franchise should put their future in his hands. With Andy Reid fired, Foles won't necessarily have the coaches in his corner, either. Smith has great tools but struggled in the second half of his senior season, including the Pinstripe Bowl December 29. With talented pass-catchers already in town, the Eagles could be one of the few teams who could gamble on a rookie quarterback early... and win.

It could happen, but I  hope not.  That is a stupid synopsis. How can Foles be blamed for coming into a situation where the Eagles were mathmatically eliminated...had no defense...and had 4 out of 5 starters out on the OL...a coaching staff that was basically on the way out... and be expected to win games?

wasnt troy aikman like 2-14 in his first year.. saying we should draft a qb cuz foles was 1-5 is stupid ESPECIALLY with how depleated this team was

id rather give foles a chance to start all year next year then draft a QB with the first pick..its not his fault the defense consistently blew it.. they shouldve beaten the cowboys, panthers and even redskins they wouldve had a better shot of beating at the end of the year with foles at QB... but the defense blew it.. shouldve been 4-2 with foles.. not 1-5.. he is only goign to get better

If the draft breaks that way...(which would be awful)....trade down out of 4 and let someone else take Geno...Only other guy I would want (on ordering in their mock) is the DT at 10, but not at 4.  Maybe the michigan OT.  Te'o where he is going (14) would be great.

aikman went 1-15 his first year.




Foles showed alot of poise and ability... I believe he can be the answer with the rest of the pieces in place...

If they believe that us going 1-5 with Foles in is any indication of his talent then they're obviously dip****s. Foles is literally the last reason why we went 1-5.

Correction, Aikman was 0-11 in his first season. The Cowboys only win that season came against the Redskins and Aikman wasn't even starting in that game. Eli Manning went 1-6 in his first season beating only the Cowboys at home.

There are some premier tackles in this draft.  I just can't see the Eagles going QB.

Geno will be a fine NFL talent.  Just not that early.

Aikman went 0-11 -  he was out for the game Dallas won his rookie year. Steve Walsh was the starter for 5 games including the single win.

Most of these mock drafts are way off anyway. Up until yesterday CBS sports had Joeckel as the pick for 8 weeks. Now they want to cause a buzz and they did.
