A potential sticking point for O'Brien regarding the Eagles job could be their new general manager Howie Roseman. The club's 37-year-old salary cap guru is known to be held in low regard by O'Brien's mentor, Patriots coach Bill Belichick, and by another strong O'Brien contact, former Broncos head coach and Patriots assistant Josh McDaniels.

Has anyone heard that before ???????

Isn't that related to the (alleged) Roseman / Licht power struggle that forced Licht out?

All I know is that it isn't a positive thing for our personnel point man to be held in 'low regard' by anyone, much less the best coach in the league.

It's just noise to me unless I hear it or read a direct quote from the hoodie himself.

Not sure about the validity of the report or why Josh McDaniels would have any opinion on Howie. However its not surprising at all if other GMs, coaches, and personnel people around the league don't hold Howie in high regards.

Why should they?

Why shouldn't they?

Unless there's stuff about this guy we don't know about, he's just another young guy in his first GM gig.

I have read before that most NFL insiders hold him in low regard.

To them, he's an outsider who got his job by brown nosing Banner/Lurie.

Whatever, I don't care.... as long as he is held accountable to the job he is being tasked to do, I don't care who the GM is.

I personally think he is in over his head when it comes to personnel but obviously, I know very little about the inner workings of his day to day activity.

Not sure I believe this report. I suspect Belichick would share Reid's opinion, whatever it was. And my sense is Reid and Howie were on the same page this year. I have no doubt Reid would have preferred all along that his boy Heckert would have been kept, but that's just further proof of how clueless Reid really was.

If it was necessary to fire the coaching staff then they should have fired Roseman too. I have no faith in him making football decisions.

Without knowing what when on behind the scenes pertaining to player evaluations and the draft we are throwing darts.  Lurie has all the info and is very confident in Howie.

Now reports are that the Eagles are planning to set up an interview with Brien.

This report might be true but for now I will find it under doubtful. Howie might not be held in high regard but I doubt its because of Josh McDaniels of all people. Belicheck I can see.

Lets hope there is nothing there and if Brien is the best guy for the job they make it work.

I think Howie understands how the fans feel about him. He has a lot to prove. Everyone here has a lot to prove. I don't know what else to say. I'm not commenting on O'Brien rumors because they are just that, rumors. All will come out in due time.

I think Howie's a four-eyed shyster masquerading as a GM but my opinion of him is just as irrelevant as Billicheat's.

My take on Howie Roseman is this:

Play time is over.

The spot light is on you.

It's time to out-perform the rest of the big dogs without ANY excuses........because NOW, as Martha and the Vandellas sang....

He doesn't wear glasses unless he is also masquerading as someone with 20/20 vision !
