Chip Kelly channels Andy Reid at Fiesta Bowl

At his Fiesta Bowl press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Oregon head coach Chip Kelly deflected questions Wednesday about his future and any potential offers from NFL teams.

But he's already starting to sound like an Eagles head coach.

Asked if his particular style of offense would take precedence over any team's established personnel in the event he was offered an NFL job, Kelly gave an answer (via ASAP Sports) that should sound pretty familiar.

"I think college football is a personnel-driven game, so is the NFL," Kelly said. "Your job as a coach very simply is to put your players in positions to make plays, get out of the way and go make them."

Of course, Kelly spent the rest of his time trying to quell speculation about his future and denying that it has proved any distraction as his team prepares for its final game of the season.

It's been speculated the Eagles have an interest in Kelly, who was offered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coaching job last year.

"I don't expect anything," Kelly said, with regard to potential offers. "I said this a million times. I'm never surprised by anything. I do not know what the future holds. I do know we have a football game tomorrow night and I'm going to be there.

"I've never been asked a question by one of my players. I think one of the tenets of how we do in our program is we don't like outside influences control our lives. It's kind of just noise to us."

As for whether his offense would even work in the NFL, Kelly -- who has previously consulted Bill Belichick on how to improve the New England Patriots' offense -- was a little more willing to talk, but admitted he isn't sure.

"I don't think anybody knows any answers until someone does it. The Washington Redskins are doing a pretty good job. I forgot the name of their quarterback, but I think he's done a decent job. The kid at Carolina has done a pretty good job," he said, referencing Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton with a smile. (While at Auburn, Newtown defeated Kelly's Ducks in the 2011 BCS National Championship.)

"But it depends. I don't know. I've never coached in that league. I visited practices and talked to people about it. The one thing about that, about everything, you have to have good players. Sometimes the coaching aspect is way overrated. We don't play the game."

No. 4 Oregon meets No. 5 Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday night.
