I like what I hear about McCoy

Hoping the powers that be get this done with teh best candidate.

I was not overly impressed with the DUCKS performance yesterday. Take away #24 and #6 and they lose that game....

gentlemen ..all opinions are great..but lets think about our team and best available.   so we want some one who will be more vocal and understand the fan base. passionate and can evaluate talent. some one who will command respect with experience in the nfl at some degree.   who does that leave from the names we heard?

well lovie smith - might get a look because he did does value defense, and knows what to look for in the cover 2 scheme he likes. offensively he knows what to do with speedy guys and knows he needs a big wr target. would def help shady out.

the falcons trio, -basically experience and a set in place staff

jon gruden- a bit arrogant, can evaluate talent and positions well, a few years away from coaching, but thats ok, will be vocal and passionate.

mccoy- ppl talk about oh he had to do nothing cause he had manning...well we got foles , so if he can groom him into the same general...why not????

cowher- maybe too long away from the game

mike singltary -  now i might be for this guy in the mix or even as d coordinator... u know why?? he will tell a player he aint shhhhhh, and tell his momma he aint shhhhhh  if that player doesnt perform well.  some guys on the team need it.

now im sure the eagles have a target we know nothing about, and thats who will get the job.  i think i want lovie smith..cause he will def try to emulate the bears defense, he knows to look look for those charles tillman types. d jax is better than hester in the receiving game.  mccoy will be the forte, he will prob look to get dwayne bowe to be his marshall,  foles will be better than cutler. ryans his urlacher. its seems like a decent fit

DUB SEL.  I think Lovie can be our D coordinator, but head coach?  Maybe, but he'll need to bring in an excellent Offensive Coordinator to make the calls on O.  I like him for the DC job...but who knows?

By the looks of things, it really doesnt matter who the next coach or assistants will be.Most of us will not be happy..Dawkins by the way is not going to be coaching anything but his sons team.He has said this time and time again..And because someone was a great player does not mean he will be a great coach. I really dont care who our next coach will be as long as this team wins. Isnt that what we all want ?.I cant understand why us fans think we all know it all.Everything that will fix our beloved Eagles. Each and everyone of you have the best formula right? Get over yourselves and just stay as a fan.I remember when AR became coach and people couldnt understand why. Yet the dude stays for 13 years. And when we were winning all was great, and then came the losing. Now AR is a bum and will destroy any other team he goes to.LOL.We all think we know it all, when in fact we dont know anything.Leave it all to the PROs and see how it turns out. And we all know that if it doesnt . We will let them know all about it...But most importantly LETS JUST BLEED GREEN TOGETHER. Is that to much to ask for?..LOL

Singletary or Lovie Smith as our DC, Dawkins secondary and Ray Lewis linebackers coach. Gruden ,Nolan or McCoy as HC, then hire an young offensive guru to run the offense. As for special teams, hire away the ST coordinator from Atlanta or Chicago for more money, with this line-up of coaches and money who would say No,then will be set as far as coaches.

Peyton Manning is the Offensive coordinator for the Broncos, everyone knows that.  McCoy is expendable to them, they could care less if he leaves.

Can't find anything impressive on McCoy's resume that screams out at you.  He spent the majority of his years coaching the Panthers which doesn't paint the picture of a championship caliber coach.

I would prefer that we go with a defensive minded HC but Kelly is the HOT ticket and our offenses the past few seasons have been undisciplined and predictable.  A fresh new mind might be what we need to kickstart the offense while the defense get fixed.  More question marks on the defensive side of the ball.

I'd say lets go hard after Mccoy, Look at the QB's he made looked good, Jake Delhomme, Kyle Orton, and the big one Tim Tebow, now peyton manning is peyton manning, but his numbers are way up this season than any other season. He has a great resume. And I know he would be able to get Nick Foles to be a really good/great QB. I really don't want chip kelly, at first I did, but he is going to run a gimmick offense and most likely will keep mike vick, who can't read a defense to save his life. Mccoy would just have to bring in a really good DC.

Where are those qb's now is the question??? Not playing or scrapping to stay in the league.  But any qb under Kelly wouldn't have to read a defense as much as his offense dictates the pace.  Didn't see the qb make one read last night, just bang, bang, bang!  Don't worry tho, Vick wants out of Philly.

And what grade are you in?What is wrong with you guys thinking all these ex players are gonna be great coaches? How many Dawkins and Lewis can Dawkins and lewis produce.NONE..these are special players, once in a lifetime players not even they can produce carbon copies. Some of the best coaches that we have seen and know were horrible players, and most of the elite players turn coaches are Horrible....Singletary is 1 of the bad coaches that was a great player.Del-rio good player horrible coach.Harbaugh was an ok player but a very good coach...and on and on.The McCoy as HC is the smartest remark you made here....are you even an EAGLES fan?.......best bet for you is stick to just being a fan instead of making crazy comments to see your name on the boards..you are just making yourself look like a child.

ackid38.  Dawkins as any coach shouldn't even be a thought!  Singletary outside of coaching LB's is asenine so I agree with you totally.

To hire McCoy would be like bringing Kotite back in!  He was a good position coach too, but can take a team waaaaaaay out of position as a HC.

The search should then be over on sunday with the hiring of Mike McCoy as the next coach of our Philadelphia Eagles. Any coach who can take Peyton Manning, who was with 1 successful program for a very long time and make him believe in your scheme and go on to a 13-3 record says allot about your abilities as a coach.Of course some will say is look who the QB is..But you also have to remember that Peyton called all his own plays in INDY.Yes Peyton is an Elite QB but to have someone like him believe enough of you to change the way you play your position and win..This is the coach i want for my EAGLES.and if i was Mr Lurie,I would give this guy a blank check and say fill it in..Heres Nick Foles,McCoy/Brown.A healthy O-line,some pretty good WRs,a good TE and the 4th pick in this years draft.Bring in a good DC,and ST coach and turn us back into a winning Franchise. And be the first for our team to give everyone the Superbowl rings and a Lombardi trophy that we all have been yearning for  for generations.

He has nothing to do with Denver's offense. Everyone knows that Peyton is the architect of what's going on in Denver!!!!!  McCoy was told to stay out of the way, if he was so important he wouldn't be on the market would he?  His offense is what they ran with Orton and back in Carolina with Delhomme, he gets zero credit for whats happening in Denver, come on Dude!

Phillykeene, if you want unpredictable offenses, Chip Kelly is not your guy lol. His scheme is based off of Inside and outside zone reads which are extremely obvious....the key to his offense is the tempo and speed of his players coupled with good blocking....but the plays are still predictable which is why a lot of people are skeptical about it working in the NFL.

I say they'll make him an offer.  We'll be looking to replace AR with another offensive minded coach.  IMO, McCoy makes the most sense outta the candidates for what Lurie/Roseman are searching for.

just sayin

McCoy makes zero sense!

Nothing is predictable about a spread option, that's why it works in Seattle and Washington so well.

I wonder why Bill Belichick consulted Kelly in the offseason?  Wonder if his fast tempo suggestions are working in NE?

They won't offer McCoy a piece of bubble gum!  Don't even know why they are wasting their time or his.

No I  don't think Lurie and Roseman really want to go that direction again. They are not done interviewing. I wouldn't be surprised in the least. If our next head coach has not been mentioned yet.  Roseman does his due diligence to cover all bases. No McCoy or Chip Kelly. It will be either a top DC or Jay or John Gruden. Mark my words. O wasn't are biggest prob, other then turn overs. Too many talented OC candidates available, too waste our time on McCoy or Kelly.

Gus Bradley, Seahawks  DC good pick and Arians did a tremendous job with a young Colts team. I thought the Niners DC was the best until, i saw Seattle's D. He has them playing so well. I see them going at least to the title game. Too bad we couldn't have Chip Kelly as an OC . Obviously he is gonna get a shot to be a HC.
