Brother of our beloved Bryce Brown. Not sure if he could play SAM for us, but I'm always a fan of pairing family together (the Andrews brothers do not count).

I'm sure he will run a great 40 time for a LB, so he could be taken in the late second. If he falls to our third, he could be BPA.

I think he is more of a WILL backer.

Arthur will be a 1st round pick so we'd have to trade up into the early-mid 20's to get him. He will be a badass in the NFL.

Oh, and my uncle runs the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Wichita and used to be editor of Kansas Sports Magazine. He has been watching and reporting on Kansas high school athletes since the early 80's and he thinks Arthur Brown is the best football player to come out of Kansas, ever. To put that in perspective, Kansas has produced Barry Sanders (who my uncle took me to see play in HS), John Riggins (who my dad played against and ran track against) and our favorite Kansas-bred football player, Mark Simineou (sp? and kidding obviously). Jordy Nelson and Darren Sproles are two current Kansas kids in the NFL.

hes barely 230 pounds. he is NOT a SAM backer.

Id like to have him, but he will be drafted in the 2nd and thats too high for us, because we dont need another small LB. We need a legit SAM LB.

Watch him tonight and you'll change your mind. Still, I think we need offensive line and secondary help before we even think about LB.

Would fit in either defensive scheme and a very good player. Late second/early third depending on combine performance.

My only worry is how undersized he is. Think he could be a great player as a WILL if he adds a little weight. Other than that, I'm unsure.

Where would he project in a 3-4? If he slips to 35 he could be BPA.

My only concern is if we are moving to a 3-4 which seems to be the case, unless Ryans wants out we would have our two inside with Kendricks and Ryans. Arthur isn't really a 3-4 rush LB. he could play all 3 in a 4-3 but only middle in a 3-4 as the outside linebacker position is a combo. So I agree, not too sure where he fits in.

I love arthur (reminds of P. Willis when he first came out).  I'd stick with Ryans and Kendricks for this year though and address ILB in the draft next year.

Willis was 240 coming out. Brown is 225. That's a big difference at LB

Eh. I've never been one to put stock in a 10-15 pound weight difference. There are plenty of "small" safeties and LBs that get the job done. However Arthur Brown compared to Willis is a bit brash. Willis was a early top 10-15 pick easily while brown is 2-3 round. Willis has and will be a stud, brown has potential to be a very solid LB but I don't see him ever being on Willis's level

I don't put stock into it if you are looking at him as an WLB in a 4-3
I do put stock into it if you are looking at him as an ILB in a 3-4

So, I guess it depends on how you are looking at him. I would love Brown as a WLB if we are sticking with a 4-3... it just doesn't appear that is the case.

I'm not comparing them across the board in terms of potential, talent, production etc.  Simply based on style of play and tendencies.  I loved Willis coming out, and many people thought he was too small to be productive.  I think Arthur is getting the same bad wrap.  He plays much bigger than he is, and I always believe it would be easy for a guy of his size to pack on 10 lbs.  If Brown was behind the right DL, he could make a name for himself as a playmaker pretty quickly IMO.

Now that makes more sense lol yeah I think anyone can put on 10 more pounds. In terms of just being a beast no one will be P Willis but I agree under the right scheme and situation Brown can be very productive

I think he'd be a great fit.

He could be a real leader on defense.

Could be a decent idea, draft him to play inside and kick Kendricks outside.

He'll have a hard time making it past the Ravens at 32 though, and I don't love him enough to trade back into the 1st to get him.
