I looked around and didn't see a thread on him and I know people around here are interested in him. I like the way he's got the Seahawks defense playing. I think he's a guy the Eagles may be waiting to interview.

Bradley, Fangio and Zimmer are my three favorite...

I just don't see us going with a defensive minded guy. I would love it if we did.

Also - I think we can just about write Fangio off. If they were interested you would think they would have tried to get permission to interview this weekend (like with McCoy)

"J.L., listen to me. I have got a guy here in Tampa that is one of, if not, the finest football coaches I have ever worked with. He's an A-plus. He's a once-in-a-lifetime coach. You need to talk to him."

- Monte Kiffin to Jim L. Mora

Sounds good to me.

High praise from a great defensive coordinator. I would be on board if we could get a really solid guy to run the offense. Thing is I think it's easier to find defensive coordinators than offensive coordinators.

I agree... but it's felt like forever since we had one.

Pete Carroll:

"He's the best teacher I've ever been around. He's so thorough, so thoughtful, and he'll go to such lengths to find ways to make sense of the information so the guys can understand it in practical ways. It doesn't matter how good we teach. It's how well they learn. I think that connection is really clear with Gus. He's great at it."

Thinking who he'd have on his staff, I'm not sure he'd take anybody from Seattle or would be able to do so. I think there's a good chance he may go after somebody like Aaron Kromer who he coached with in Tampa Bay or maybe even Joe Lombardi from the Saints as his offensive coordinator.

With Gus Bradley there'd be a new intensity, a new energy and above all there will be accountability. Players love to play for him and he's respected. The first thing he'd have to do is to get the players to buy into his system. He's gotta identify the leaders on the team and get them to follow his philosophy.

I want him bad ever since watching Seattle beat the 49ers I want a defense like that! I think this would be an interesting pick if he could find a well established OC it could be what we need.

He is my clear cut #1 choice, this guy is just on the cusp of hitting his stride as an NFL coach, and so far he has been stellar in Seattle.

I want a defensive minded HC! Gus or Smith for me, I'd MUCH rather have Gus though. He's younger and full of energy, exactly what this dead team needs..

I have quickly jumped on the Gus Bradley bandwagon as well and glad the Eagles are interviewing him. PLEASE let Cleveland take Chip Kelly and I don't want McCoy because he has won mostly with vetern quaterbacks in Manning and Delhomme. Bradley seems like a winner and has done impressive things with the Seahawk D and has been given high praise. Hopefully Lurie is as won over after talking with Bradley as we are. Maybe Lurie is waiting to see what his D does against RGIII because if hired, he will have to face RGIII and the Skins twice a year.

I'm more than ok with this move...and it opens up so many more possibilities in the draft as well.  I've wanted an excuse to draft Dion Jordan or Mingo.

If we switch to a 3-4 than yes to either but in a 4-3 I'd much rather have guys like Moore, Hunt or the kid from BYU. I'm not saying Mingo and Jordan aren't 4-3 DE's but I'd rather see those guys standing rushing the passer..

I would be happy if they hired Gus Bradley, but one note of caution is that it's hard to tell how much of what Seattle has accomplished on defense comes from Carroll.  He and Bradley are clearly working well together as a unit, but would it work as well with Bradley and his own choice for DC?

Quote

In Tampa, Bradley learned the intricacies of Kiffin's often-emulated variation of the Cover-2 scheme. Carroll had learned under Kiffin as a young coach at Arkansas in 1978, and over the past 34 years, they've become like family. But Carroll has his own defensive philosophies, and with the help of Bradley and the entire Seahawks defensive staff, he has been able to combine a lifetime of concepts with some fresh wrinkles to develop what amounts to a career capstone defensive project.

It's a defense that can be explained, at its most elementary level, as a hybrid scheme that mixes 3-4 concepts in a 4-3 front. But what makes the Seahawks stand out is the coaches' willingness to play off the diverse skills of their players. That flexibility has allowed the Seahawks to identify underrated talent that doesn't fit into a mold, to focus on strengths instead of weaknesses in player evaluations and to create an oversized, yet not lumbering, defensive unit.

The defense is defined by its abnormally tall and physical 6-foot-3 cornerbacks, Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman, as well as its 320-pound defensive end, Red Bryant. Then you look at the safeties — the swift free safety Earl Thomas and the huge, thumping strong safety Kam Chancellor — to catch a glimpse of the defense's diversity.

"We're a melting pot of sorts," Sherman said.

It is Carroll's vision. But he has never had a coordinator as equipped as Bradley to lead it.

I love the passion, intensity, energy and everything that Gus Bradley would bring to this defense. The defense needs an identity not to be on the field for the majority of the game. We've seen that and we didn't like then and won't like it going forward. Gus Bradley's gonna do something that the Eagles have definitely needed for quite some time now. He's gonna hold players accountable for what happened and he's gonna give them a strong vocal and visible presence.

Do you think there's a good chance they'll sign him? I really hope so.
