Hey Dave

How come the Eagles will not reach out to Jon Gruden to coach the Eagles?

I think he could put together a hell of a coaching staff.

If they are truly exploring every available option, it doesn't make sense to not interview Gruden.  I have a feeling Howie is probably trying to avoid a more established coach who could eat into his organizational power, though.

Damn I just asked this same question. I wouldn't be against Jon coming here and giving it a try. At least we would win some games and compete.

The reason behind the Eagles not interviewing Jon Gruden is Jon Gruden Doesnt want to be interviewed. For goodness sakes please read into this people. He has stated on many news casts that he is happy in his current position and has no desire to coach at this time. For christ sakes when does this crap ever end.If he wanted to coach i am really sure that every team who needed a coach would have already tried to hire the guy with a blank check. But instead we will just blame Howie for not trying.I dont like Howie as much as the next guy,but this time i got his back.

I'll ignore Kiffin's time as DC under Lane's regime in college and say Gruden is the choice only if Monte is involved.

I'd be fine with that combo or Chucky and Jauron if he's let go or Chucky and Lovie.

Yeah that's the big advantage to bringing in an established coach.  Might be kinda funny if he brings his son over.  Grudens v Shanahans blood feud LOL.

Wasn't there an issue between Lurie and Gruden back in the day. I thought that I read that somewhere.

Anyone else recall?

All I know is that Lovie and Bradley are on the list to interview next. I read what I read about Gruden. I know that there is nothing but good feeling with Lurie and Gruden.

Jay Gruden is Jon's brother.  Does Jon also have a son that coaches ?

Not the guy I want mentoring a young QB. Gruden eats young quarterbacks alive.

Gruden actually did a nice job with Bobby Hoying. When he left after that year things went south.

It's also hard to say that a guy hasn't mellowed a bit 6 years later
