Dave,

I've read some negative comments regarding Jon Gruden from some fans here but why wouldn't the Eagles offer to interview him? Like Jaws said he has proven NFL coaching ability and has won a SB. Been a few years since I've posted anything here but I had to ask this question.

I only know that Lovie and Bradley are on the list to be interviewed. All of this Gruden speculation, guys, I really don't know. Jeffrey does not share his list with me.

If they were interested in Grudin, they would interview him.  There were a half dozen openinings and NO ONE even interviewed him.  Can't you people read the writing on the wall ?

We never really know who the they all interview unless they want us to know. Nobody heard about the O'Brien meeting untill a couple days after the fact.  Also Chucky has received calls and its been reported for the last couple months he's only open to returning for the right job openings. Which means he's being picky on where he goes.  He's definitely not my 1st choice, but I would fall back to him if I had to.

So Grudin or the NFL team that is interested in him or interviewing him is keeping it hush hush ?  Really ? C'mon dude.
Grudin and/or his agent are advertising their interest in potentially coaching in the NFL.  They haven't gotten a sniff as of yet.  You think he is being picky ?  I think he would give his left nut to coach in San Diego, Chicago, or Philly.
I am not saying it can't happen.  I am saying that as of now there is zero interest which is telling.

I'd take Gruden..... you could do a lot worse.

I doubt he would be willing and able to be considered equals with Howie and take direction from him on player personnel.

For that reason alone, I can't see the 3 insecure nerds hiring him and risk having Gruden try to walk all over Howie

I would say we're all speculating and that none of know whats going on so remember theres deceit throughout every teams approach to hiring a new HC and coaches lookinf for jobs. With that being said he has turned down interviews in the past and people like Jaws don't usually spout out about things unless they know for sure.

I love him as an ex-Eagle, but let's be real - Jaws is an absolute tool.

I have no idea how he got to be so "respected" at ESPN for his football analysis, especially at QB.

He's only 'respected' by the tools who work with him on there.

I have no idea why anyone watches and takes seriously that dreck or the garbage on the NFL Network.      I wouldn't last 30 seconds.

The NFL Network has Mike Mayock. Sorry mjkvol, but not every analyst in sports are "tools". Mayock is probably the best talent evaluator out there.

And you should feel free to watch, then

Mayock is yet another guy who has gotten way too full of himself, judging from his analyst work on Thursday nights.

I don't see a problem with it. Agree to disagree. Anyways I don't watch him for that. I watch him leading up to the draft. I'm one of the few that actually watch all the combine coverage on NFL Network. Every player through every drill, 4 hours a day for 4 days. Drives my wife crazy but its one of my favorite times of the year and I love his in depth knowledge of every single player. The guy has been offered positions in scouting and personnel departements for muliptle football teams over the years.

I used to watch a lot of the combine too, but having to listen to nitwits like Eisen wore me out.        The draft is bad enough, but I'll deal with it for that.

No doubt Mayock is head and shoulders above anyone else on there, but that is pretty much back handed compliment, you know?
