Redskins Were Using Extra Artificial Crowd Noise

Didn't they do this before and get caught?

Rumors are flying that the Redskins pumped artificial crowd noise through the FedEx Field speaker system during Sunday’s playoff game against the Seahawks. Of course, Seattle ended up surging from a 14-point deficit and scored 24 unanswered points to beat Washington 24-14 in Landover, Md.

Washington Post sports blogger Dan Steinberg tweeted Monday morning that multiple Washington fans contacted him, “convinced the team was piping in noise yesterday.”

Following that tweet, several more people who attended the game jumped to corroborate Steinberg’s suspicion.

What a joke. The largest stadium in the NFL and the fans can't make enough noise on their own? Crappy turf, crappy fans. The Washington Redskins.

Last paragraph:

Scandal! Well, not exactly. This is something that NFL teams get accused of all the time, and although it may be bush league, it's something that likely happens at games (especially playoff games) every single week. Even if there was fake crowd noise, it didn't do much to help the 'Skins overcome the Seahawks. Maybe it's time for Dan Snyder to start worrying less about how loud his stadium is more about how it is home to knee-mangling field turf.

I think you're thinking of the Colts.

Also, the title says that it's "Redskins fans" using artifical crowd noise, but the actual accusation is that it's the Redskins franchise (or the stadium authority), using the artifical noise.

Don't they realize the Seahawks already play in the loudest stadium in the NFL?

They were only hurting themselves with this one...

You're talking about Danny Boy though, he didn't do it for football reasons, he'd be embarrassed to have the Redskins in the playoffs and have no noise. He had to save face and pump up the volume a bit.

Those fans are traitors.

But a traitor to your enemy is an ally to you, so they should be applauded... ;)

They used to be pretty loud back in the day at RFK.

I was at the 1982 NFCCG vs. Dallass, that place was insane.

The Eagles were accused of doing something similar earlier this year to drown out the stupid chants and booing

If it were my team going to the playoffs for only the third time since 1992 and second since 1999 I would be pretty f'ing pumped up enough as a fan. Problem with Skins fans and the stadium is that ever since it opened and Snyder took over the wait list has been filled with politicans and the rich folks around the area and not real fans. A lot of real fans also have jumped off the list due to having a poor team and not having the money Snyder charges, I have been to both stadiums and RFK truly was a home field advantage for the Skins. You would never hear of them needing to pump in crowd noise. I have seriously seen fans removed for being TOO LOUD. One lady complained Eagles fans were standing and cheering too loudly and her son couldn't see the game. They were thrown out. Did nothing to warrant being thrown out. No vulgar language (lol except for when they were being thrown out). Just cheering on their team loudly blocking the view of a family.

The one thing that made me wonder was that Kirk Cousins was trying to block out noise while the play was being radioed in. Either the fans didn't realize that their team had the ball, or artificial crowd noise wasn't muted.

yeah, but you can almost say the same thing about the linc(not the piping in of crowd noise). that place is no way near as crazy and loud as it was back at the vet. same thing with the crowd. the vet had more of the psycho, hardcorps eagles fan. now, due to the prices among other things, its more of a corporate feeling. but, you can prob say that about most newer stadiums anymore.
