I made that post in the Arians/Bradley thread. My friend is an avid Seahawks fan and that was just his personal opinion more or less. Never said any of it was right or wrong. Only thing I took from what he told me is: Kris Richards is responsible for that secondary AND Seahawks D is terrible on 3rd down, especially 3rd and long.

THIS^ ... If Gus was our HC with Kris Richards at DC, Id be excited about our future. Excited enough to boast, therefor if it was a disaster I WOULD in fact eat my words. Thats just how I roll ... My RGKnee prediction is still looking pretty good ( 3-4 years in the league as being valuable). Ill post up some candidates for coordinators in a bit.

Kris Richards also has ties with Carroll from USC. He was a graduate assistant under him as well as Secondary Coach. So my question would be: IF we get Gus, does Richards take his opening in Seattle?

Does Richards move into the DC at Seattle instead if coming to Philly as the DC ???
Good question.
Richards and Carroll do go way back.
Hmmm

Sorry, but I have been familiar with Bradley since 2005.
And I believe I was the 1st to bring his name up last month before the season even ended.

You could be 100% right. And actually history says he will likely only be average at best.

It's also possible he doesn't get hired because he just isn't ready. None of us fans have a clue about that though because we are not doing the interview.
Saying he us mediocre is like saying a team won't win the SB that year.
Odds are with you that you will be right.

I hate all the "odds" talk lol I know the truth is the truth, but every team in the NFL is facing the same "odds" when drafting and hiring coaches. " We just need to do a better job there"

And I have complete faith in Lurie, Howie and whoever else is involved in the interview process.
I'm just trying to remind fans that unfortunately facts are facts and history is history.
And the facts are,,, there have only been 28 coaches to win a SB out of 518 coaches ever hired. A 5% chance. Not very good odds.

And I was basically pointing out since that OP was being so negative that everyone of us could say that Bradley or any other coach will fail and sadly we would all throw a ton of money on that bet since you have a 95% of being right.

kiffin and pete saying good things about gus to the media is great.. but its like your wife asking you if she looks fat in something.. you are going to say no, no matter what..

kiffin and pete arent gonna say anything bad about him in public

look i know some people love him and he could lead this team very well.. but right now i just think he has a hype train moving in the right direction good for him.. mid way through the season no one was tslking about him.. all of a sudden Sea wins 4 or 5 games in row and the dude is the next great coach

i dont buy it

To be Fair... the Kiffin comments were not to the media. They were to the Jim Mora Jr., the Coach of the Seahawks at the time. He was pitching Gus to be DC back then.

I wasn't being negative at all. did you mean me? I just thought it was strange that he hasn't gotten more interest. BTW, even though only 5% of head coaches have won a superbowl, it doesn't mean that 95% of coaches are failures. I guess you could look at it that way since every team has the same ultimate goal, but it takes more than the right coach to win. it takes a bit of luck too as far as injuries, and the bounce of the ball, and other factors that affect the season, plus, any of the teams that make the playoffs have a shot (within reason) and it comes down to what goes on in those playoff games.

if you want to evaluate whether they made a good hire, I think you look at things like did the coach bring the lockerroom together and get everyone on the same page with his schemes and philosophy. did they draft well, do they make good moves in FA did they bring in a good staff. are they winning games and does the team have confidence and a winning attitude, do you become playoff contenders in a short amount of time. if those things are accomplished, then they made the right choice. nobody can predict who will win the superbowl, i don't think you can use that as the barometer of whether they made the right choice out of the available options. although it is ultimately the coaches legacy when it's all said and done.

If you follow the NFL and not just the Eagles you'd probably have heard of him. . .I have family and am from the Northwest and I have loved the guys they have been bringing in on defense the past few years so I started following him.

he could have the greatest stats of all time.. it doesnt change the fact that i think this NEWFOUND hype is the only thing MOST of tate is going by.. everyon that jumped on the "GUS BUS" will jump right back off IF the falcons light the seahawks up this weekend

like i said if he is the eagles HC ill back him 100% im just not on the bus right now
NOPE, not everyone. I wasn't concerned by the Redskins jumping out to a 14 point lead. Fact is I was impressed by the what the ENTIRE Seahawks team did, adjusted in game. Seattle matches up pretty well with Atlanta, I think they beat the Falcons.

I should also add, even if the Seahawks get lit up by the Falcons, that doesn't take away the fact, the Seahawks D has improved under Bradley every season.

Eagles are the only team to request an interview with him. Honestly that's the way I like it. The other teams that currently have vacancies (possible Jacksonville will be included by the end of the week), it appears they're gonna look to an offensive minded head coach. So that bodes well for the Eagles in their possible pursuit.
Mularkey was just fired by the Jaguars

I, myself, have been too.

And on top of it. I want Ken Norton Jr as my DC.
