I have been reading some people's posts about HC candidates out there not wanting to work with Howie because he has too much power and he is not a football guy. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Lurie say that the new HC will report directly to him? Didn't he say that the new HC and Howie will work together? So that means both guys are considered equal and the new HC will get his say on personnel. What HC wouldn't want that? Why would he be afraid of Howie having too much power even though he doesn't?

I'm confused. You said that Howie said the new HC would report directly to him. Then you said they would work together. One sounds much better than the other.

Thats whats said by people who dont like Howie. Theres evidence to go both ways on whether he is a good GM or not, but in all reality nobody knows, yet.

I'm not buying the stuff about guys not wanting to work with him for whatever reason. I heard Mike Missanelli say that if a guy truly wants to be a head coach, he'll take the job and none of the secondary stuff like that would matter. Plus the ones that have turned the job down or played a game were the college coaches looking to get more money. You can't be mad at the Eagles for that. The guys in the NFL are ready to become head coaches and they'll make it work for the good of the franchise.

I don't like or dislike Howie, but history has shown that when bean counters run the show, profits soar while quality of product plummets. This can be see in our American industry, including but not limited to the auto, electronic and home appliance industries.

Bottom line is that the inside guys/experts should make the decisions and the bean counters figure out how to make the books right. Then you have a high quality product that everyone wants to buy.

I took what Lurie said to mean the new coach will have his say and will not have to report to Howie only Lurie but that Howie will have an equal say in draft and roster decisions.  If they disagree on anything Lurie has final say...

This is a brutal process. The reality is, is that most legit HC prospects want no part of reporting to Howie. It's a touchy subject but I can guarantee that someone like Bill Cowhler isn't going to call Howie Roseman his boss. It's a fact. It's all business these days. It Sucks but it's true. Everyone thinks they know more than the next guy. This football team is in trouble for the next 5 years, at least. Sorry fans. I've been caring for way too long. We are doomed. Go FLYERS!

What annoys the hell outta me is everyone talking like they hate howie.  If thats the case than eagles fans will never like anybody.  Now none of us know how much say Howie really had in the 2011 draft but 2012's was one of the best drafts (as we all felt the day it was over) that we have had in many many many years.  and even though the 2011 free agency splurg didnt work out you still gotta give it to him for being able to make it happen.  so in other words….

HOWIE IS ONE HELL OF A GM SO LAY THE "F" OFF ALREADY!!!

What more could you want.  gEEZ...

For the umpteenth time, the new coach won't be reporting to Howie. He'll be reporting to Lurie.

Dead on.
Us fans have no clue of the EXACT inner workings of the top brass of this team except for what Lurie has TOLD us. Which could be 100% factual or not.

I actually have a pretty good idea, and have been pretty close to dead on.
