Hey Dave,
When the Eagles sign a new coach am I going to read about it first on ESPN or the PE website? I don't understand why external websites share more information than the team site.

A new coach has not yet been hired. We try to break the news here, of course, but we have limitations. Outside sites do not have limitations. We have to get the OFFICIAL word before it breaks. Now, when a new coach is hired, we will have the most robust coverage, trust me. But we can't guarantee that we will break the story. Agents talk, "sources" talk ... we have to wait until it is all official

How hard is it for Howie to pick up the phone and say "Dave he just signed go with it" so the site can and should be the first to report for the fans!

While Howie is picking the phone up, the new coaches agent just finished tweeting, updating the coaches facebook status and texting his "sources". In the middle of dialing Dave to tell him to go with the news, the agent is finishing up interviews with ESPN and NFL Network.
How so? Well, the agent knew the deal that was offered would be accepted before it was officially signed and wants to get the word out there of his success for his client. The Eagles are a football franchise, so their main concern is football and not breaking news.
9.99 times out of 10, you'll hear "breaking news" from other sources other than the Eagles official site. That's not a knock on PE.COM, that's just how it is.

Your explanation makes sense...But you had to have know that they were interviewing Brian Kelly...right? Can't you at least confirm or deny the rumors and add in the 2 cents of if a second interview is confirmed or not. And this Gus Bradley rumor, can you at least confirm or deny that Gus, if or when he is interviewed will be after the Seahawks are eliminated or during the playoff run. I know you guys do a great job but it seems odd that I get PE news from the Eagle haters at ESPN vs. the team site.
