Not to defend Andy, but since he's an offensive guy, his OC is just an extension of himself. So whether it's Marty or Childress or whoever, it's just an honorary position. We all know Andy's the one out there guiding that offense.

If we hire Lovie, I kinda hope Marty stays. I don't trust his experience in finding an OC.

Everybody has to start somewhere.
He absolutely can do worse. Or better. Or do poorly in KC, but succeed later in another job. Or do great in KC and never match that success elsewhere. It kind of depends on the individual strengths, weaknesses, and experience of the coach, along with the situation they are put in.
